2015 towing mirrors

So this looks exactly what I'm looking for. Ummmm... I just realized I'm in the 1500 forum, would this all be applicable to the 2500?

If you have a gas 2500 these mirrors should be the same, not sure about the harness. Diesels have an ambient temp sensor in the pass mirror so that mirror would def be different but drivers side should be the same.

The harness differences between gas and diesel (if any) would be the (2) temp sensors circuits. I am finding that later model trucks and their harnesses are coming pinned with these two circuits now, even though they are not needed for gas. Earlier model harnesses were optioned based on the need.

Jesus it's hard to find information in this thread. So I have a 2015 double cab SLE. I just have power glass so that's DL8 correct? So I need harness's 23342729 and 23342715 right? Do i need OEM GM mirror's or can I use just any tow mirror for the truck and the harness will work? OEM tow mirrors are mad expensive.

Agreed. I made a comprehensive thread with hopes that it answers all there is to know about upgrading mirrors.

Hope this helps. And yes, those harness #s should work.

I can make the equivalent to those harnesses if needed and will guarantee fitment with a refund if they don't.

So I'm looking at the 1A Autoparts site as the other thread started by pgamboa seemed to indicate I could get the mirrors there.

I found these: https://www.1aauto.com/mirror-pair/i/1amrp01796?f=1103292&y=2016

But the lady I spoke to said they wouldn't work because they were for the diesel.

Do you think my truck would accept these and just have the PIN for the diesel but it doens't do anything? That would be nice as I don't want to go the $975*2 mirror price and $225*2 harness price. :(

That's $2400..... frack

And I just got off the phone with a GM parts dealership who quoted $1870 for the mirrors, plus $350 for the harness, plus $400 for some kit and they AREN'T powerfold... What the heck?

I'm truly confused haha.

Just to update everyone.

I installed my tow mirrors. The exact parts provided by Black Denali Canada matched what I needed. Basically installed over the course of 5-6 hours. Hands got quite chopped up in the process. I'm either clumsy or have large hands (likely both), it wasn't easy, but not hard. Getting the wire harness in and out was the painful part.

I ordered the parts from a gmparts depot. They ended up costing ~$1750 CDN for the towing powerfold, reverse light, signal light, memory mirror, etc. chrome versions.

Now what to do with my wire harnesses and smaller mirrors? Anyone want to buy? I priced them out at a dealer and they cost $1,656,22 for all the parts and harnesses and online you'd have to pay $1140 approximately. Plus shipping. I'm thinking $750 CDN for all the parts would be fair.

Not sure on your pricing model..But the prices on 1A Auto's site is for the pair of mirrors. Also, $225 (if referring to my harness price) is for the set (driver and passenger side), not each.

I sell them OEM GM for $1029 shipped within the 48 states. We also ship to Canada for a little more. In case you need other options. :)

Lol, thanks guys. But I got them already from gm parts depot, as per the most recent post.

Cost $1750 CDN. Which is about $200 more than the $1029 quote when changed to CDN. Thanks though.

Yup, will update shortly with some pics. For interests sake using the old harnesses would have worked. The mirrors would have been plug and play except ONE feature didn't transfer. The reverse LED spot lights. I debated not bothering to do, but then figured the harnesses were the cheapest part of the order that I might as well do it. It was also the 5 of the 6 hours haha.

I think I've got the mirrors sold this weekend. Just need to sell the old harnesses. pgamboa you interested in a buying set of wires to tinker with? I don't mind shipping them to you.

If you have the smaller DL3 Mirrors and used the same harness on towing mirrors, the park lamp would not have worked like factory. It would have appeared to be working as it would have leveraged the puddle lamp circuit to illuminate the park lamp. These two circuits operate differently.

Puddle lamps only come on at night and when the doors are unlocked/opened. Once you get it in, close the door, the puddle lamp circuit turns off.

Park Lamps will turn on when you unlock your truck, anytime the low beam lamps are on and will remain on all the time at night.

The 18-pin mirror connector uses Pin #1 for both Park Lamp and Puddle Lamp, but are routed to a different location on the door jamb connector. So depending on what mirror your truck comes with, it will be pinned accordingly.

Sounds very confusing but I have dissected this MANY MANY times. LOL.

As for your old harness set, I do offer a $40 USD core refund for members that buy my harness set to help them in the net cost in doing this upgrade. I have extended this for anyone looking to get rid of their harness even if they don't buy from me. I'm sure the cost to ship them to me would be more than the $40 though.

If the day comes where I am not able to get cores back, or have to start buying these harness for more than $40, I may have to pull the plug on this program.

Well, since I just took a bunch of pics after the lift was put on last week, I'll throw one up.

These are the DQS mirrors that I swapped out the chrome covers for the black covers, no chrome for me.
