My 04 2500 HD with 6.0 ext. cab 4 door short bed has an issue I can't figure out. When I first drive it it drives fine but as I drive it more it "gets tight" I have not found any issues that are apparent, trans fluid looks good, oil is good, rear end has gear lube haven't checked front diff or transfer case yet but the 4WD works.

The only thing I have replaced thus far is the 4WD switch.

If I had more information I would give it to you, although if I did I would likely have it fixed.

If I had to say it differently I would say the rolling resistance is shit.... It feels as if the longer it runs the worse it gets... As if it would stop rolling without throttle input.

I don't know what G80 is. I have also thought it might be an e brake or other brake issue I have also leaned toward bad bearings being the issue. I have had it for about two months so my guess is if the bearings were failing they would have been done by now and I would know.

Positive it isn't in 4wd, I can spin driveshaft while engine is running.

So what is the fix for the G80? Cost?

Put it up on jack stands and spin each wheel. Could be front unit bearings, or brakes locking up. Or the gears in the diff's

So it drives fine when it's cold, but seems to struggle as it gets warm? Could that be a tranny issue? Starts slipping once it gets hot?

Different people have different interpretation of tight. As you can see from the different post asking what you mean by tight? My interpretation of tight is that if my vehicle is tight it has no squeaks or rattles.

During this intial drive time do you apply brakes? Does it seem to be getting "tighter" after each application of brakes? Does it have "tightness" when you first start out and just gets worse regardless of brake application? Is your parking brake completely off? Do you hear anything that sounds like dragging/rubbing/grinding with the windows down? Does the steering feel any different as you drive? Any abnormal handling characteristics as you drive such as pulling to one side when driving or during braking?

I clearly was not asking about it having no rattles since I was stating it felt it had an issue, tight seems pretty clear to me. Thanks for your response though.

Yes during the initial driving I apply brakes, I mostly drive this truck to the firehouse every third day to the firehouse approx. 15-20 miles each way. There are days lately that it feels tight from the get go and there have been days as of late that it drives fine. There is no dragging, rubbing, grinding etc, steering feels ok, and it seems to handle well.
