The 75->100 pull in a 6.2l is just...just so nice.

That is all. Just felt like sharing!

That would be my recommended approach, but you do whatever blows your hair back.

My personal favorite is when there's 2 lanes getting on the interstate here, seems some jerk always wants to try and go around me before you're supposed to, the look on their face is priceless when you kick the big ole Chevy in the ass

Yup. I love merging onto the 'state. I know I shouldn't (seriously, it probably isn't that safe), but when I see someone hold speed and refuse to give merge distance...then I drop the skinny pedal. And then I roll in about 4 car lengths ahead LOL.

I miss those days when I had some rides that were hot, fast, and could pin you hard. Some of my cars were fast too.

...jus putterin around in my ol slow poke truck now.

Since when is the guy on the Interstate supposed to give you "merge distance"?

My understanding is that I have to yield if I wanna get onto the highway. I have to look for the gab and accelerate or slow down to merge.

It is a different story in rush hour traffic though. But you were talking about a room of 4 car lengths.

I'm really curious because I almost slammed into cars in front of me a couple times. They hit the brakes just because someone came up the on-ramp?!?!

Around here if people see you merging they speed up, heaven forbid you turn on your blinker. If you don't have HP your out of luck. People in puddle jumpers ( low HP ) are forever slowing down in the merge lane, some poor guy behind them checks their mirror to merge than bam rear ender. So you have to hang back wait for them, so now your at 35 MPH trying to merge at 75 to 85. Now you have to look 2 lanes over cause the puddle jumper is now up to 45 MPH merging with cars bearing down at 85 MPH. If I had a rev limiter Id be on it daily, welcome to Texas. If you have a pair its fun as hell.

Agreed

My favorite are the two lanes merging to one a few hundred yards after a stop light that you have been sitting at.....people tend to underestimate the acceleration potential of a 4X4 truck.

Correct, many people are misinformed on the laws. Cars coming onto the highway have to yield to cars already on the highway in most situations.

I wish people would use some common sense, as how would it make sense for a car already on a highway going 70+ to slow down for a car coming onto a high way at half the speed, it doesnt.

If im on a two lane highway ill pull to the left to give room for some one to merge, especially some one pulling anything, most of the time its hope and a prayer for them anyway. On a three lane I stay in the middle. People go insane when they get around a big rig, a little speed management and anticipation goes a long way. People don't realize that in the left lane ( passing lane ) your not supposed to slow down traffic behind you, no matter how fast they are going. That's starting to get in forced here, about time.

Any of you guys have those stupid merge lights that don't work with a shit. It's RACE time if I have to hit one! I hate those fkn things!! :driving:
