Dashboard disc for gps

Decided to go with a disc to mount my gps on, cleaned an area with alcohol and it looks like a clear coat came off the dash, somewhat flaked up where it came up. Anyone have experience with this, otherwise be on guard with what you use on the dash.

The stuff that came off is essentially a sealant and it's meant to protect the dash material. Once your GPS disc is on though, don't expect to take it off. It will ruin the dash. Ask me how I know.
