I drive by a Ford dealership every day and I haven't seen a single '15 on the lot, and this weekend up in flagstaff the Ford lot was full of them!

And in an event in downtown they even had an fx4 package with some meaty tires on display where you could get close enough to touch it, although unfortunately it wasn't unlocked. Surprisingly the body didnt feel as tin-can like as I expected... Overall I'm impressed and it looks way better in person than in pictures.

The ecboosts are real pieces of junk blowing turbos and all. I wonder what the resale value of an ecoboost f150 will be in a few years.

that's because the First Production Runs go to the Large High Volume dealers first; and after the Plants go into Full Production and they start building Inventory, THEN the Small and Medium sized Dealers can get their allocation of Trucks. (at least, that is what was explained to me by Alexander Chevrolet-Buick-GMC's Inventory Manager when I went and looked at the First Colorado on their lot.)

What surprised me was I read somewhere that the people who custom ordered a truck wouldn't be at the front of the line in terms of production/delivery. That seems kinda like a kick to the gut to the loyalists.

I think they're better off not having the first trucks to come out of the production line, I know I would want such an early batch.

I don't think loyalty means anything to most auto makers anymore.

Finally had a chance to check one out in person a few days ago. It was a blue lariat 4x4. I was expecting it to look better in person, but for whatever reason I just didn't care for it. The front looked over styled compared to the rest of the truck and gave it a front heavy look. The rear on the truck looks nice. The work truck edition with the gray plastic looks hideous. That front styling does not behoove a cheap model.

My local dealer just got 5 of them, I stopped and checked it out. Very nice truck!! I have driven 14 and 15 K2XX Chevy and GMC 1500 and 2500 5.3, 6.2, and a D-Max. I have them for a week at a time and usually put between 700 and 1000 miles on them. They are nice trucks but none of them have wowed me really. I most liked the 2500 Denali HD D-Max but it still just felt lacking "truck feel". I only drove the F150 8 miles but it did feel more "truck like" than even the GM 2500. I am not a fan boy for anyone, GM does put food on my table and keeps a roof over my head and My wifes Yukon is probably the best vehicle I have ever owned but when it comes to the trucks right now we (GM) are lacking

some of you are so loyal brand that it causes for some stupid comments. If you want to hate on the truck , feel free too., However dont say shit like value going down , turbos blowing up or simply its a FORD . lol.

Weather you like it or not they oursell the GM boys combined , so they have to be doing something right. ( Again feel free to hate )

While the looks are always subjective this is a nice truck. Built very well inside and out.. Some of features like auto locking tail gate , led lights etc are really neat.

I still choose my GMC because overall I like the looks better but I didnt dimiss the F150 simply because its a " Ford" or some stupid reason. In fact the Ram would be my second choice ..

I finally got to sit inside of a 2015 platinum and i must say that it was awesome! The leather seats and dash were so plush but felt durable, and the crew can was cavernous. The rear ac vents are a very cool feature too. It feels very well built and the doors are very solid, with a nice vault like feeling when you close them.

This model had the 3.5 EB and I even got to peak under the hood. It was interesting to see such a relatively small engine in a full size truck.

Overall I'm still impressed by this truck in mid to upper level trims. Pics/videos do not do it any justice!

My only concern is the bed and tail gate that felt very thin and fragile, even with a spray in bed liner, it pales in comparison to mine.

My wife liked it a lot too although it's clear to her that when I buy in that range I will be getting a Silverado.

Ford made a rather bold move going from Steel to Aluminum Construction on their Number One Product, but there have been reports of Body Shops spending close to $70,000 on the specialized tools and Equipment to be able to effectively repair the 2015 F-150, and that spending is likely going to show up in both the Body Shop Prices, and the Insurance Premiums; because Aluminum is MUCH harder to work with than Mild Steel, and the added cost of the Labor to work with Aluminum is the main reason why Aluminum bodies have only been the domain of the High end Luxury European Manufacturers like Jaguar, Bentley, Audi, etc.

and on the Subject of Turbochargers, they are VERY Complex Machines that require a CONSTANT Supply of Pressure Fed Engine Oil, which feeds bearings that are supporting a shaft that turns TENS OF THOUSANDS of Revolutions a Minute; now Imagine what would happen if the Oil Supply on a Turbocharger was interrupted; or even worse, the oil seal on the Compressor side failed letting in Oil go into the intake stream: I bet the Duramax Owners here on this site know what happens when the latter happens.

Not so fast. The way the marketing guys spin things makes it hazy but when you look at F150 sales vs GM 1500, GM is typically ahead. Sometimes not by much but they are ahead. And the whole aluminum thing is a joke- the last test Car and Driver did had the Ford within 100 lbs of the Chevy. And the EcoBoost beat the 6.2 by like 1 MPG in their tests. There's probably a fancy wallstreet-type term for it but it seems Ford spent a ton of money on aluminum and these EB engines and have very little real world advantage to show for it.

I drove a 2015 last month and aside from a horribly uncomfortable seat, I did like it. But GM and Ram are doing it better.
