Thank you to the OP.

I did this 2 weeks ago in my truck and it made a huge difference, it even helped increase my mpg, haha.

i got rid of my slow throttle, google sprintbooster been using one for 2 years works as advertized

I have sprintbooster on my 2011 bmw x5 diesel and it works so good. On Red its like hair trigger, i keep it in green and off when wife drives it. She doesnt like the sensitive throttle lol

I miss driving that thing now that my truck is my daily, x5 is a beast and so much torque! (425ftlbs)

Thanks OP , after dropping two pieces of paint stick under the carpet I went in the shop and found a 1/4" aluminum puck from a hole saw. That was a little to thick but still managed to get it under the frame. Drove it right after and wow was that noticeable ! 19k of getting used to the flex really made it stand out haha.

Even after checking my pedal and not seeing any flex, I went ahead and added a piece of hard plastic underneath and I definitely saw a difference in throttle response. Anyone not seeing the flex, I recommend trying this fix anyway.

 

Has anyone upgraded their ignition coils? I saw a customer review from an Accel supercoil ignition pac(and wires) on a 2016 saying they noticed better throttle response.

I did this about 2 weeks ago and really didn't notice much difference just a bit but as I've been driving more I'm really liking the truck more.The take off nose dive is gone and I swear my mpg got better to,maybe it's relearning my drive habits.

My gas peddle mount looks slighty different than yours, I have a plastic housing that runs outwards from that nut, and it is really hard for me to reach between where you stuffed the wood :(

I was close to taking my new '17 in because it just didn't seem right off the line, to my surprise I went and looked at the pedal and she's a flexing. Fixing it tonight with a paint stick tonight, going to wrap it in black tape so it blends in.

Well, I caught this thread and decided to take a looks see? Guess what? I am going to Lowes to buy some shit to fix my excessive pedal flex. Thanks to the OG poster on this one! So it looks easy to fix and the assembly itself looks decent too. It's just the cheap plastic bracket/holder that bolts onto the floor board/firewall etc.


The actual pedal assembly slides into the bracket and still way too much excessive side to side play even if it's affixed directly to the floor board properly? Oh, Well.. it's shit no doubt and nothing like the older vehicles at least I am not dealing with an ecoboost turbo problem.............

Did the "paint stick mod" this morning and the response is night and day different. Shimmed 2 paint stick widths in the plastic and no more issues at all.

We should name their thread " shimmin' the shakin' Silverado" lol..I do love my truck but if GM could just get off their ass and come up with a fix it would be near perfect.. Oh and new trans. tuning too. Am I asking too much here?

I have adjustable pedals and it was joke with the play/flex. I removed the whole assembly down to the plastic mount that has bolts attached to it.

I placed 2qty 1/8" thick plastic washers 1.125" in diameter over the 3qty bolts and put pedal assembly back and tightened down. I then took a plastic shim like a wood shim yet plastic and cut it down. At this point I pried up plastic mount and squeezed caulk and shim behind.

 

Took truck for "Hot Lap" and this thing now has probably 100% better throttle response! The best and first MOD evey body should be doing! Thanks OP why didn't I open this thread 1yr ago?

      But Grumpy I did show several subdivisions that had homes starting in the 170K range. If you bought a Townhouse or Condo you could go cheaper. Same with a car 3000 dollars in the 70s translates to around 20K today. There are several models at that price. You actually get more for the money. In the 70s I drove a 3000$ car bought a 28K home and made 4.50 per hour. Thank goodness for overtime. Today I could buy a 170K house drive a 20K car and make 25 dollars an hour operating the same machine today. The difference the house, car, machine would be better and have AC. And I wouldn’t be taxed on overtime. And statistically your wife works too. Easing the burden. I thought we agreed to disagree. I brought receipts earlier, showing examples. I think you’re more stubborn than me. I was done with this debate.

      My 2025 Silverado 1500 had to receive a brand-new engine (long block) under warranty last month at only around 16,500 miles. Before the replacement, the truck repeatedly displayed "Engine Oil Level Low" warnings, even though the Oil Life Monitor still showed around 50% remaining after about 6,000 miles since my last oil change. After seeing the warning several times, I checked the dipstick with the engine cold, and the oil level was completely normal. The next day, the message escalated to "Add Engine Oil." At first, I assumed it was just a faulty oil level sensor, so I brought the truck to the dealership. After inspecting the engine, they found internal cylinder wall scoring and ultimately replaced the entire long block under warranty. Before this happened, I was planning to install a 4-inch lift and suspension upgrade on my truck. After needing a new engine at just 16,500 miles, I honestly don't see the point anymore. I also contacted GM to ask whether my vehicle qualified for a buyback, but I was informed that it does not at this time. Anyway, this experience has left me with serious concerns about the long-term reliability of this engine. I sincerely hope NHTSA expands the current investigation or recall to include 2025 model and performs a thorough inspection of affected vehicles. My biggest concern is that these engines may fail shortly after the powertrain warranty expires. If GM truly stands behind this engine, then at the very least, please consider extending the powertrain warranty to 10 years for affected owners. That would go a long way toward restoring customer confidence.

      Without exception but then I'm the odd duck, right? I know what goes into that test, how it is calculated and thus how to beat it. But EPA values are often not beaten by the general public and the government has in past years adjusted the means and methods to come to those values to more closely approximate "Joe Average".    The only real trick to beating that EPA average is don't drive like "Joe Average".    It's the same method you used to profit from "Economic Migration" and in doing so beat the 'stats'. But you, like me, are not "Joe Average".     The thing you don't seem to grasp is this "Purchasing Power Index" isn't forward looking. It doesn't predict what it going to be but looks backward and states what it was. They are not telling us what the THINK, they are telling us what they MEASURED. Example:    Wife says "I'm going to lose 40 pounds by Christmas". May she does, maybe she doesn't but the doctors office who weighed her when she made that statement and again at Christmas only REPORTS what the RESULT was. You and I can banter about what was possible and what aunt Tilly did till the cows come home but the result is the result. Arguing otherwise is.....irrational. That's all I'm saying. This isn't about:      What you are calling a 'Statistic' is a RESULT not a CALCUATION and as a result the RULE. Like gravity as a rule, it can not be broken.
