New GMC

hello all, i picked up my new GMC 1500 SLT CC on Saturday 1/10...i ordred 12/2/14 and it arrived 1/8/15.

I love it so far, got the CC because i have a 9 week old baby, car seat fits perfect vs my ext cab.

questions.

1) i have a max tow so i have the new mirrors (hauling my 35ft camper, 7300 lbs). the led reverse lights, those kick on only when a trailer hooked to the truck?

2) I have a reverse camera with the lines which is nice for hooking up the trailer solo, however, i do not have the beeps anymore..i would have assumed i would, so i checked rear bumper and no sensors. is that normal?

3) i synched my phone with the truck and cannot get the text message feature to show up and on the screen even though everything appears to be correct. Thoughts?

I would read the book but between the 9 week old and finishing my MBA i have little time, only reason i am posing this is because i am online doing homework.

Try the cargo light switch.

Rear park assist is optional (UD7) or front and rear park assist (UD5) - do you have either?

Mine will read texts to me, can't help you with set-up.

i have no idea, my build sheet shows 4SA SLT Prefered equip group which i thought was this?

The SLE Preferred Package includes:

  • 10-way power seat adjuster for driver (with front 40/20/40 reclining split-bench seat only)
  • Remote vehicle starter system
  • Front fog lamps
  • Universal Home Remote on Crew Cab and Double Cab models
  • Rear-window defogger
  • 110-volt power outlet
  • Dual-zone climate control on Crew Cab and Double Cab models

The SLT Preferred Package includes:

  • Front and Rear Park Assist, which helps the driver park by issuing warnings when the vehicle gets too close to an object
  • Heated steering wheel

UD5 Front and Rear park assist is also included as part of Y65 - Driver Alert Package

Anyway, if it has the front and rear installed, it may be shut off in the settings menu accessed thru the radio.

It can also be disabled with the switch under the hvac control.

well dealer confirmed they messed up my order and even though I was there when he checked the front and rear park assist package they didn't check it on the computer.

any ideas about the led lights in the mirror not kicking on or the text message part?

iphone? some people have said the text isn't working with iphones.

Works fine with my galaxy.

Are you sure you have the lights in the mirrors?

I that that was part of parking assist package. Like the lane departure thing?

I've got an iPhone 6 plus, works flawlessly,. If you have an iPhone, once you sync to the truck, you have to go into your Bluetooth settings in the settings app and click the info button beside gmc intellilink then tick on "show notifications".

I just figured out you can use Siri to respond to texts hands free as well. Just hold on the talk button on the steering wheel until you hear the iPhone beep through the truck's speakers. The DIC will say "waiting for device response" or something along those lines. Then just say "text (contact name)", it will ask what you want to say, then say your message. After that it will read back your message and reply yes or no if you want to send it. Talk fast though, mine finishes the text quick if I pause too long, causing me to restart the text.

Hope that helps.

Also on mine, you can either have the seat vibrate or the truck beep, but not both. Kind of a pain bc Id like it to beep for the parking sensors and vibrate the seat on the lane departure warning. You can either have them all beep as a warning or all vibrate, no option for beep on sensors and vibrate for lane depart.

How hard is it for the dealer to print the build order sheet???

I sat down and we checked each box together, then double and triple checked it.

Shouldn't be tough. If all else fails take a pic of the RPO codes on the metal plate in your glove box and check what the codes your looking for online are and see if you have them?

The LED's in the mirrors only work in park and reverse when the cargo light is activated in the truck. There is a mod on here to get the cab lights to come on with the backup so if you have the courtesy lights enabled in the computer then when you disarm the truck they will come on. GM missed the boat on having to have the cab lights enabled to get the mirror lights to work

thank you I believe this will help do the trick...I have a lot of people text me for my work, I don't respond to all of them (especially driving) but it would be nice to have them come up on the dash.
