Compared to the stock Rancho's, the Bilstein 4600's blow them away. The ride is better than expected with way faster response.

I put the bilstein 5100s on the rear of my 14 High Country with a new 2" block a few weeks ago. Ride is unbelievable compared to stock. Liked it so much I got the adjustable 5100s for my front, removed the lower block of my 2.5" RC level , and installed these at highest settings with the top spacer from the RC kit. Ride is incredible. Ride is ridiculously smooth and soaks up bumps great. Highly recommend the 5100s. Best investment I ever made. Haha. Glad it helped you! I did the same thing reading through endless pages of threads. I figured if it helped just 1 person it was worth it. [emoji106]

That's what I like about this forum from others in the past......a lot people helping others is what it's about. Now to see how I can sneak $350.00+ install from the bank without you know who snapping.

Thanks again bro!

I have a question for the guys running the 5100s or just anyone that would know more than me. My truck has what I believe is a 2.5" front leveling kit (unsure because it came on the truck when I bought it) and 3" rear blocks. I know I can figure out the front end stuff, my question is can I run the 5100s on the rear with the 3" blocks? I'm unsure of how tall the stock blocks are and thought I read somewhere that they could be used with blocks up to 1" taller than the factory blocks? Thanks for any info you guys have, I'd like to just get them ordered soon

Very common for the 2.5" leveling kits to have a 1.5" taller than stock rear block. Stock rear is either 1.5" or 2" if a z71, you said it measures at 3" overall which sounds like the 1.5" larger rear blocks. The 5100 are rated 1" over stock, but can really go to 2" if you are beating on them offroad.

I don't believe you can as the 5100 states 1" taller. I don't mean to hijack your post but I currently have a 2" rear block and will be buying the 5100's for rear only from MRT. Maybe he can chime in on your question. Send him a PM as he's the vendor several post up.

2.5" Rough Country with the 2"RC block in the rear . ( stock block removed) I'm really not happy with the ride and it bounces like crazy when I tow my boat. I figured I'd start with the rear shocks first to try and stop the bounce BS and go from there.

I'm pretty sure that's what I got only with 3" rear blocks, I'm in the process of figuring what I have and what I need to order to make the switch to 5100s on all 4 corners. I'm not too crazy about the ride either, hoping the 5100s make it better, especially off the pavement.

    • Good question, I don't remember for sure but I believe it was the HD. I will check and get back to you.
    • Point of the post sir was that while both wages and cost are rising EVERYWHERE; the cost is rising faster EVERYWHERE than the ability to buy EVERYWHERE. We're not going down the location rabbit hole. I'm aware of what economic migration is. I've lived in four states including Texas.   It's what "Purchasing Power" means.   I'm not telling you what I think. • Probably a one and done post, but do you have a CEL on the dash? Was having issues with my transmission, fortunately only a week, and it turned out to be the transmission harness. Valve body was in good shape, so new harness with all the sensors attached, new fluid, and filter. Seems to have worked so far?
    • Two interesting tidbits of information which are NOT related were just released.   One, regarding the possible thrust bearing issues / engine failures with the 3.0. Demonworks just did a segment in which they believe they may have found "a" or "the" cause of thrust bearing failures: A missing thrust bearing. If the engine doesn't have all its thrust bearings from the factory, the missing bearing can cause extra play which ends up destroying a nearby thrust bearing which then sends metal through the engine.       Of other importance, Lake Speed Jr released some interest information regarding oil weight selection for the 3.0. Comparisons of:   AcDelco 0w20 Dexos D Mobil 1 ESP x2 0w20 Dexos D Mobil 1 ESP x2 0w30 Mobil 1 ESP x4 0w40. Mobil Delvac 5w40   Spoiler alert: The Mobils are PAO Ester -base and the ACDelco is a Group III base. Mobil shows lower wear in their tests for similar weights. Additive packages between 20-30-40 weight ESP's appear to be the same, but only 0w20 is Dexos D licensed. Wear is even more reduced with 30 and 40 weight ESP although all perform very well and resist shear and provide very similar viscosities within temperature operating ranges in the 3.0.   There are even more surprises, so just go watch it.
    • Hello Guys I'm new to the form,         I just put a 7-inch Rough Country lift on my 2016 GMC Sierra 1500 with the 5.3 and I also put a Borla exhaust on it. But I noticed when I'm in park or in neutral and then I rev my truck up really quick there is a bad click noise and I think it's coming from the motor somewhere. Anyways I got a video of it I will attach below I was just wondering if you guys think its rod knock or lifter tick or something like that because I know the AFM kind of made the lifters weak on these trucks.       Thanks!!!!!
