Hello all, just bought a 14 z71 2wd. Interested in upgrading to the 5100's all the way around. I have a few questions,

Do i need to change the springs too or are the stock ones ok?

I can use these to effectively level the truck if i want to right?

Thanks

Keep the springs and yes the ride height adjustable 5100's will essentially level your truck

I just installed the 4600s on the rear and they are awesome. Night and day difference. Now I am trying to figure out replacing the fronts.

Just installed the 5100s on the front at the highest setting which gave me +2" at the front wheel wells. I was measuring 35.5" in the front and 39" in the rear before the install.

I was a little nervous about going to the highest setting because of a lot of the comments about the the ride being poor at that height. The ride is much better than stock. I am new to these trucks so I might just not know any better though.

Thanks for posting that. We do text during normal business hours! Or call us at that number. Or email us! Or Pm US, or Message us on facebook.

Got your text Corey, you ordered with Spencer which means your shocks should be shipping out today via Bilstein. Youll see them before the weekend.

Thanks!

Anybody home?? I've texted, emailed, called with no answer. I ordered on 5/7.

Good Luck Tootall87, I placed my order on April 26th. I did receive the fronts finally but now I'm waiting on the rears. I did finally get ahold of Robert at MRT and he said he would call his rep @ Bilstien and get back to me but that was early last week and I have yet to get an answer. I called Bilstien myself yesterday and was told the rears are on backorder and 5 weeks out. Don't expect any communication because it's nonexistent. Sure would of been nice if there website could inform us that things are on back order when placing it in the cart.

??? Man I ordered my rear 5100's from Amazon and got them in 2 days. And they even sent a replacement for one that was the wrong model for my truck and they sent a free replacement the next day. So I have an extra free shock lol. I got the 33-238319

Got a call from him as well. Similar story, rears on backorder. Sending me the fronts now, rears when they get in. A simple email explaining that would cease all confusion and frustration.

Just had all 4 put on the truck and ended up with a 1.5" rake with the fronts being at the highest setting(was thinking it would be less). I also noticed the boots were installed up but I thought I read that a 2016 should go boot down? What difference if any does that make?

From what I have read, the Bilstein stickers should be right side up so they can be read which would be boot down. I don't know what kind of difference it makes though.

I also ended up with 1.5" of rake. Actually that is only the drivers side. My rear passenger side sits almost 1" lower than the driver for some reason; not sure what I am going to do about that or what is causing it yet.

Thanks for the info. Got ahold of the shop and although he said it's doubtful they installed then upside down, they'll swap them around next week. Here's some info I found on the orientation

Count me in on the 5100's! I liked the shocks so much for the rear I bought the fronts almost immediately. After testing the OEM's the other day when I swapped out the passenger side shock was already sticking 3/4's on travel? Junk, most of you have already commented and the factory Shocks are straight JUNK!

    • Howdy folks,   Recently I pulled a heated steering wheel and clock spring out of a 2015 Sierra All Terrain (part numbers coming soon - will have to disassemble), and just installed it on my 2016 Sierra WT (as base model as it gets).   On install, I noticed that I’m missing the connector often tucked behind the dash for the heating element.     No problem… or so I thought.   I used an “Add-A-Fuse” at my heated steering wheel fuse location, which has voltage, but no wires. I ran it to the positive of the heated steering wheel (Violet/White), and took black to ground.   Hooked up the battery, turned the truck on - no heated steering wheel. No button backlights. Was pleased to see that my cruise control was working though.   Read a post suggesting reversing polarity, so I gave it a shot. Violet and White to ground, Black to power.    Aha! Heat! But I seemingly can’t turn it off AND still no backlights on any of the buttons.    Checked all fuses, everything is still in good order. I’m stumped.   Does anyone have any insight? If so, please share!
    • I'm about 1800 miles into my last oil change, and yesterday a message appeared saying oil life was at 77%. Not sure why it popped up but I think all of these electronics could be susceptible to solar flares or somesuch. I change my oil right at 3K each time, and that was the first time in 10870 miles that message came up. Strange thing is that it showed on the screen at all since I don't drive with that sort of info displayed on the DIC.

    • Checked the pads today and there's plenty of meat on them. If the message keeps coming up, I'll just answer YES that the pads were replaced and wait for the squeal.
