. If I take the case off its iffy.

Mine I can't just toss it into the tray.

When the S7 is pushed to the rear of the tray it will charge, it doesn't charge if the phone is pushed to the front of the tray.

Nice that the radio screen indicates when it is charging.

Mine will charge without the case if its all the way to the back and slightly up the back incline. Not worth the aggravation to me. If I need to charge I have a Verizon mobile charger. or the turbo charger plugged into the 120 outlet. Have to use that for something. :)

also if I leave my case on my galaxy s6 and use the wireless charger the phone seems to get hot.as I said earlier quick charger plugged into power outlet works best for me

What is everyone getting for charging times on these and the hardwire usb connection straight to your phone if you checked. I have the Samsung Galaxy s7 and when it was a 8% it said it would take over 5 hours to fully charge... Read the same on the wireless pad and usb connections to the phone (in the console and on the dash connections)

I have an S5 Neo and I would say it charges about the same as any other USB.

*Note USB 1.0 is 1amp and USB 2.0 is 2.1amp so it does charge faster on a better USB port. I think these are USB 2.0 but I honestly have not checked (just would be silly to make them 1.0 in this day and age since they actually do data too but same could be said for them not being 3.0 which is even better and readily available) . Wireless charging is less than 1amp so its like a trickle charge.

I don't bother with the wireless charging since I have to plug in to usb for android auto. But it will work on my s7 about every fifth try if I put it just off the back edge. It is a worthless feature since I have to take the case off my phone for it to work.

I have the S7 Edge and it'll charge much faster than 5 hours from dead. You could rewire your setup to use the following bits which will give you "fast wireless charging" on your S7.

Charger (FYI their statement that the S7/Edge adapter won't work with this is false. It does work):

USB Adapter:

For the USB adapter you can break the case apart and use the circuit board only to reduce the size if you need.

I'm glad I don't have the OEM wireless charger in my '15. Gives me the easy ability to upgrade as hardware gets better. For example, I just recently switched out the charging pad for a fast wireless charger pad. Big improvement.

What fast wireless charger did you use?

here is a link to the charger that i used you might even find it cheaper.

if your phone has wireless charging capabilities this will work.
also if you want to skip the step with the tie wrap i found out that you can just pull the under side off the console by prying them apart there are no screws that hold them together.

I bought an OEM lid off EBay with the charger, it has 3 wires - yellow, black and green. Does anyone have the wiring schematic or know which are power and ground plus what the 3rd wire is?

3rd is probably a signal wire to tell the radio to display the symbol which indicates that the system is 'charging'.

    • Glad that worked, and in this case that is all on Autel for somehow dropping the ball for not updating the GMC section properly.    I believe in the basic section or unless it is in the advanced, when one does a check of lets say individual sensors for what the pressure is ( and it shows a temperature as well ) , I think it picks up on what the model number of the sensor is in a certain section where you choose "OE" sensor or at least mine is telling me what the model number is and matches to what they actually are and that is the number I quoted in a prior post.    I don't recall now if I had said prior that I discovered with my truck anyway that no matter how low I set the placard pressure for the rear tires, if the physical pressure is under 35 psi and I drive it for about 15 miles the pressure warning will come on for one or both rear tires. I am speculating that there is something else in the trucks system that over rides the placard pressure setting once it drops below that minimum pressure to run a metric LT tire at. The weird thing is it does not trigger right away after driving a shorter distance, it took that longer drive for it to trigger. Just something to keep in mind if you were experimenting with pressures below 35 pounds for a tire designed for lower pressures ( larger than stock floatation series tires ) and not being overloaded of course.
    • I've seen a scant few YT vids on them, but it's always in a performance application.
    • No clue. Service advisor said he'd call me this morning, which I'm 99% sure won't happen. They had the truck 5 days, and I didn't hear a peep. Finally had to call them yesterday. I guess they'd be content to just let the truck sit in perpetuity.
    • I had a little bit of time before I left for work this morning, so I plugged the scanner back in, and I selected Chevrolet Silverado instead of GMC Sierra, and the very first option was for a 2026 so I selected that one and I seen at the bottom it had the option for psi change unlike in the 2026 GMC Sierra, I selected that option and it took a little longer than the usual vehicle not supported, and sure enough I got into it, and it let my change the psi values.. I no longer have the low psi warning light!   Thank you for recommending me to try it under Chevrolet instead! I can confirm this device does work for a 2026 GMC Sierra 2500 hd 6.6 diesel  just have to select Chevrolet Silverado instead of GMC Sierra.   Maybe I'll contact Autel and let them know of that issue and maybe they will fix it for the GMC option  because some people probably return the scanner due to it not working under GMC Sierra.
