Truck Cap question??

Looking at buying a used truck cap. Want to use it during the summer when we go camping, as I'll be able to put things in the bed, without worrying if it will fit under the tri-fold cover.

 

I know my CC short has a 5.8' bed. Most adds Im seeing, people have 6ft caps. I assume these are too long or are they just rounding up? Im not really familiar with them. Also I was told I'd maybe have to remove the tailgate lip cover to get the glass door to close. That true?

As far as the tailgate spoiler goes, you can buy the non spoiler flat version from gm. Those were standard on 2500hd and 3500hd trucks. Or go aftermarket.
