Bet they did not aim your headlights or your ace mechanic would have found this. From my experience dealers do not want to do this update!

Removed the air box and the bulb was not seated, but cocked in the socket. Then when checking alignment on garage door the same side, passenger, high beam shutter is not opening, only the driver side is. I did see a small wire connector loose inside the passenger side but thought it may be for the LED DRL's as mine is an SLE not SLT. Could it be for the high/low shutter and if so do you guys know where it plugs in? It's tight in there and hard to tell. Dealer must have pulled something apart because the high/low worked before the performance "improvement".

Gee whizz! Rip the dealer time! Check the other side and trace the wires.wish I could help more.

Had this improvement done today at the dealer. Ordered bulbs a couple weeks ago and they flashed the BCM and replaced bulbs, as well as 4 recalls that were outstanding. Half way home as it became dark, the passenger side shown left across the drivers side into oncoming lane. The "veteran" mechanic (so I was told that did the work) must not have seated the passenger side build properly, if that's possible. They are obviously considerably brighter than stock but with what appeared to be such poor alignment it was hard to see much in the way of improvement. I'll have to pull that side apart and check the bulb.........never ends.

I had the same problem not seated correctly. They twist in and the groves must be small and tight. I reseated mine at night with the lights on its simple. You will be able to tell as soon as they seat correctly just watch the light in front of the truck.

Unlikely that they opened the headlights fully at all, only the back cap. And when they do that, they might have wiggled the headlight connector in the process, try reseating that plug (it is 8 pin connector)

Good luck!!

So, this morning I removed the air box again and took the bulb back out, and could look back in along side the projector and sue enough the wire I could feel loose has a 2 wire molex type connector that plugs into a 2 pin socket that powers the high/low beam shutter. With some long micro needle nose and thin screw driver I was able to get it lined up and plugged in. High/low shutter working again. Dealer tech must have yanked the bulb connector so hard it pulled that connector off too. There was no way they checked the bulb alignment when done. If that's the work of a "30 year veteran mechanic, their best guy" they have problems. The adage stands "if you can't do it yourself your in trouble". Thanks for your help and suggestions.

I wanted to follow up with a report on how the headlight perf improv turned out. As mentioned in my earlier posts, I did have to correct what the dealer tech cobbled up during the install, and I encountered a check engine light for the first 30 miles or so following the reinstallation of the air box, but the improvement in the lighting is substantial. I am pleased with night driving for the first time since owning this truck. I would estimate a 30-35% improvement and with the LED fog bulbs I installed several months ago it's pretty darn good, both high and low beam. I recommend this improvement and at least give GM credit for recognizing the lights' shortcomings. It should have been a recall and we shouldn't have to find this out on our own then enlighten the dealership, but I guess that won't change. Thanks to all that contribute to this and forums like it.

Just had the bulbs replaced on my '14 Sierra and they flashed my BCM. What exactly does this mean....Flash my BCM?

The awesome part was that I got back my truck and the horn did not work. They said it was due to the BCM and they had to reprogram it. Does this make sense? I've had some problems with my dealer and starting to think they are incompetent.

The BCM (Body Control Module) controls just about everything on the truck except the engine and transmission. When they flash it. They upload all the new parameters for the part they are replacing with the newest available to them.

Been over a month since I started this thread. Called dealer four times about the lighting update. No one ever gave me a straight answer. Think it would help that I bought two 2014's sierras! Not once have they returned a call.Total of seven autos purchased at this dealer. Purchased wife a new SUV. GM product NOT!!! It has great lights.

Definitely. There's no reason a dealer should balk at changing them out. It's warranty work, nothing out of their pockets.

Still waiting! Maybe just a flash and keep my 9011's. Professional grade service.

I had this TSB done last week on my truck and the new bulbs and refresh result in brighter head lights but they still suck bad. My 2005 Sierra had much better output and beam pattern.

Had the tsb completed also, while there is a noticeable improvement, I dont believe they are as good as they should be, Oh well. I can see fine during night time driving so I'm not complaining.
