My truck finally showed up, 2015 Sierra Denali 6.2

After ordering my 2015 SD 6.2 back in mid DEC it finally arrived at the dealer on Thurs. 2 days of post delivery inspection (said 2 days because it was a Denali) I was able to go pick it up on Sat. I must say so far it has been worth the wait. Not having it arrive in Feb ended up giving me an extra 750 in rebates, which I'm okay with. If you are interested in reading about the order process check out my thread, tracking the truck has been a pain in the ass and gm really needs to step it up big on that. Here is the thread

http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/167738-ordered-2015-sierra-denali/

I originally started looking at used Sierra denalis 09+ for the cooled seats (other new tech) and realized that they wouldn't get much better mileage than my 04. I made my way to 13/14 2500 diesels for about 50k and after test driving them and realizing I hated how they drove/ride quality I decided I should just get a new 1500 Denali. I did lots of research here/online and everyone mentioned Laura GMC. Applied online and went through the process with them because they had such good deals on their trucks.

After doing that I said not worth flying Seattle to Chicago and then either trailer/drive the truck back, I said why can't a dealer around here match/beat/come close to their prices. Called all the dealers around the seattle area and best I could get was the costco/credit union price or they wouldn't even order me a 6.2. Though a okay deal, it was still 2k+ more than Laura, I figured I couldn't fly/drive back from chicago so that was going to be it. Then I found Haselwood GMC in Bremerton, walked in talked to the manager and said I was looking for a deal, not gonna order unless it was lauras prices. Showed him the pricing on their site and he said yea np, we can be competitive with those prices. Ordered me a truck on the weekend and a couple of days later gm accepted the order. Then the order tracking misery (check the thread linked above)

2015 Sierra Denal 6.2 8sp Black on Black

sunroof, driver alert, brake controller, rear bluray/entertainment, driver assist handle

$59095 MSRP

$53320 Price before rebates (originally was 53250, but for coming through with the order I didn't say anything)

$50070 with 2500 gm, 750 usaa

$55268 Out the door, (tax 4798, 150 dealer rip off fee, 250 license)

First impression, I love the truck. Looks great and so far drives great, just under a 100 miles. After reading here I was obviously concerned about getting the 8sp (still am) but good news is I haven't experienced any clunking. Been some minor trying to find gears, but no clunking jerking or drivetrain noise. Tried up and down hill slow and fast launches, going slow then flooring it. Pretty much everything I could think of and nothing, just the power of the 6.2. I had a 04 CTS V so I'm pretty familiar with clunking/noise and couldn't get the truck to make any noise . Took peoples advice and drove on the hwy over 70, shifting from 2 auto 4wd and back, no problems or vibrations. Not sure if my truck has the new headlight tsb done, but I can say the headlights (which should be hid) light up the road pretty good. Def no shadows on the road and some light on both sides, don't see how on a dark country road you couldn't see anything. Still I will be getting a set of hids, no reason a 50k truck shouldn't have hid. As others have said ridiculous, but I knew that going in

Honestly said to myself while driving I don't see anything (knock on wood) that people have said online ie 6.2 lag, clunking/shifting, headlights can't see, screen to bright and slow, seats hurt their legs (I"m over 300lb round and over 6ft tall)

Anyways hopefully I don't start getting transmission issues around the 600+ mark but other than that I really can say the truck seems pretty great for my first brand new purchase. I feel like for just above 50k I got a hell of a deal. 6.2 has power, rides smooth on the hwy, 2 kids in the back quite watching blurays not kicking the back of my seat, I have my cooled seats on with the ac blowing while my wife has her side on hot haha

Only concern I have so far (which their shouldn't be any, esp under 100miles) is their has been some fog on one of the leds. Def gives me a warm feeling on the inside grrrr. Hate having to push the unlock and use a key to start the truck after having my 11 CTS V real keyless entry/start but I knew that going in.

First review and its late, so will post again if I think of more and put more miles on the truck

Just think, it took half as long for you to get your truck than it takes for a bun in the oven to be delivered! ;p

Congrats!

At last!!!!!

It's a beaut!

Nice! My only complaint is the stupid speed governor at 92mph!! Other than this no complaints, LOL! I absolutely love my truck and it's performance! Truck rolls and I still haven't even done the 1st hp mod. And she gets great mpg for a big engine!

thanks everyone, took a while but worth it.

A little update, looks like the dealer didn't do the tsb for the headlights so I am going to follow up with them and have it done just to see the difference before I buy some hids.

Also just bought some 22 bridgestone tires off discount tire direct ebay, have some 22s in my future haha. What do you guys think the 20 denalis are worth unde 100 miles?

My 6.2 6 speed stops dead in its tracks @ 99 MPH . =) lol

Mine's the same. Service guys at the dealership have said the unlocked ECM used for "police pursuit" models show the truck will do 140mph. I wouldn't dare take mine anywhere near that.

Congrats on the new GMC! Looks great, and I'm thrilled to read that everything seems in order. My 6.2 Silverado should be here any day now--I'm getting excited.
