Who uses their CD player anymore?

Since 2008 I have been using a MP player/Sirius XM‎ and really never use my CD player anymore. I don't even carry CD's anymore. I feel this is a dying feature and takes up room that could be use for something else. I wouldn't get it if it was an option as long as there is a USB hookups etc. I would like to see a small cut out (in its place) with USB plug in to put different devices instead. The CD is a standard feature in most of the new trucks.

The CD player has been hanging around since the streaming music services are just now reaching a quality that is better then CD. I use Spotify and Tidal as my two streaming music services. Spotify sounds nearly as good as a CD does and Tidal actually is a better quality then CD but uses a lot of data for streaming. Now that the streaming music services have reached this quality level the days of CD players are numbered.

Only had my truck a week but only listened to xm and used the "cd" slot for blurays for the kids to watch with the rear entertainment. Haven't used the cd in any car for a long while, can't remember the last time I burned a cd.

I still use the CD player regularly, but I'm an old guy who doesn't like a lot of change. :D

My 2015 GMC 1500 SLT All Terrain has 5 usb ports, 110ac plug, and a few 12v plugs. My little cd slot is below intellink controls and above the climate controls and hardly noticeable.

I think my 2011 had a CD in it once. Music from one of the guys at work who was in a band. Other than that, all iPod/iPhone or radio.

I got my first CD player in 1998/99 and don't think I've touched a tape since.

I use mine. Not often but every now and then when I get a new CD I'll drive around with it for a bit. I suspect I'll probably stop once I get a new iPod and get my digital music collection in order....I need to re-rip my collection to itunes because I don't like the low bit rate I chose the first time I did it years ago. Also I always buy my music on CD first because I want the option of maximum audio quality (you currently can't download lossless digital music files like FLAC), and I generally don't support corporate ownership over my music files. I like having physical backups I can put on a shelf and do with them what I please. Contrary to popular belief, you don't really own the music you buy from iTunes. What I mean by that is you need a valid apple ID to move the files from one machine to the next. You also need Apple to stay in business. Not that they're going anywhere but if they did, your music collection is done you have no way to certify the files and make them play anymore. I'm speaking legally here of course. There's always ways to find a work around or a hack but it's the premise of the legal model that I don't support. I also use Pandora for my radio style listening. SiriusXM is a waste of money these days with services like Pandora and Spotify.

I'm 30 FYI.
