Why one vs other??

If you look through the years since then, the gmc has always a nicer looking truck and that's not by accident. There's a saying that the help drives A chevy and the boss drives a gmc. As the saying goes beauty is in the of the beholder.

Guessing the slogan for Chevy was "Like a Rock" and for GMC is "Like a Boss"!

I prefer the Sierra front end over the stacked Silvy headlights. Also prefer the black wheel well moulding on the Sierra,as well as the red instrument lighting versus green on Silvy. Both are REALLY nice trucks though!

I much preferred the styling of the GMC to the Silverado...which pretty much repeats itself with every new iteration of GM trucks. I will say that the new monochromatic styling packages available on the Silvy have closed the styling gap a bit...at least to me...but I still prefer the looks of my A/T.

Initially I was set on a Silverado Z71, local dealer where I bought my previous Silverado just flat pissed me off when I went to special order the truck so I walked. Traveled to next town and found a truck close enough on there lot I wanted to buy--was accompanied by my wife who's adept at dealing with salespersons--we once again walked and this was over $150.00.

Went right nextdoor to GMC and left there with my Denali 6.2, standard bed, Z71 2wd on special order for less than the Silverado.

I like them both for as I see it there the same, only cosmetically different. In my case GMC won my sale by treating me like a customer who wanted a reasonable truck at a reasonable price.

Customer service goes a long with me too. I bought repeat from the same salesman a couple times. On this last deal, I was debating between the Silvy and Sierra. I had them both quote me on a very similar package. The gmc rep was very patient and didn't pressure me at all. The Chevy rep, hounded me for weeks... As I was getting closer to buying; I asked the gmc rep about ordering, $500 down and if we cannot come to an agreement, I'll get my money back. Which he assured me that they will make it work. Chevy rep, $1000 down and if we don't come to an agreement, "well, we special ordered this truck for you. If you don't take it, we will keep the money." I told that guy he lost my deal and GMC will get my business.... I was already leaning to the Sierra at this point, but the Chevy rep pissed me off...

My wife likes the GMC's better, I don't have a preference but I got such a great deal in my Chevy 1W/T that I couldn't pass it up! So we have one of each :)

Gotta admit, this looks nice!

That's not fair! Everyone knows GMC is Professional Grade while Chevys.......are well, just Chevys. That's why they cost less?. Just kidding.....kinda!

I've had GMC-Chevy-GMC-Chevy-GMC, in that order, for the past 35 years

I'm on my 4th GMC in 28 years. I've always preferred the look of the GMC front end over the Chevy. Also my primary reason for the most recent purchase was that when I went looking for a truck, I intended to buy something a year or two old and couldn't find many GMC's that weren't priced either right up there with the new trucks or too far away to go check out, and the Chevy's were somewhat plentiful which says GMC owners keep them, or there's just fewer of them around.

I've always been very happy with all of mine. I typically keep mine for several years. :driving:

GMC dealer offered me $6500 more for my trade than the Ram and Silverado dealers plus had all the same incentives etc.... Was a no brainer and I am happy with the decision.

Why did you pick the one over the other, Silverado vs Sierra?

Obviously the Silverado out sells the Sierra by huge numbers, so there's not really any competition here. I went with the Sierra, mainly I don't care for the Chevy's front fenders, to square shape for me. To me, the Sierra front end looks bolder and more truck like.

So far, the only negative thing I discovered by going with the Sierra, Ranch Hand doesn't not offer a brush guard if you have the front park assist. Ugh!

I hear the Sierra tends to cost more, but I couldn't imagine by much. I also had a youngster tell me that the GMC is an "old man's truck"!

What say you?

The front fenders are the same shape/dimension on both trucks, the GMC just has the black trim around it, which I agree is kind of a good look. I wish the Chevy's had some type of fender flare or trim. I went with the Chevy for the front end though it looks tougher to me and I like the double stack headlights better than the single lights. That being said, the GMC is still a great looking truck and I would definitely drive that if I found a better deal on one than the Chevy. Other than the fender trim and the grille, they're the exact same truck really.

It's interesting that some think the Chevy is tougher looking. I thought the K2 GMC looked like a SuperDuty and the K2 Chevy looked more like an early 90s Chevy, which I thought was one of the best looking trucks Chevy ever made. The Chevy has a well integrated and slightly aerodynamic look to it. I like this Chevy body a lot.

My choice was made on my bad experience with Chevy Customer Service back 16 years ago. I think they are one and the same now, maybe back then too.

I had a 2007 Chevy and loved the way it looked. Then my buddy got a 2010 Sierra about a year ago and the more I look at it, the more I realize how much better the front end looks than my old Chevy did. Go figure haha
