Radiator replacement

Does anyone know what GM's manual says for the time neccessary to replace the Radiator in the 2014 Sierras/Silverados? I literally just had the dealership take 9 hours to replace my radiator. Same dealership took 7 hours to replace the leaf springs on Saturday. I could be way off but that seems like way to much time for replcement of both of those items. I'm just wondering if I'm out of line by being pissed at the dealership. I had to bring in in for a second day because they didn't finish on Saturday and they still wanted to keep it until tomorrow night. Seems like a bit much for replacing the leaf springs, replacing the radiator, and checking for another squeek...

You need to remove the front grille and the condensor thus collect the freon and recharge the ac...and vac the system.

DeePa does this make it a 9 hour job? Doubtful...

Could it be that they didn't work on the truck non-stop? I've seen techs start something that takes time (drain radiator), walk off to work on something else, and finally at some point they come back to the vehicle. Or be called off to work on something higher priority, for example, car they worked on yesterday came back today with an issue related to their work.

I just did one on a 14 silv, I believe warranty pays around 2 hrs. You don't have to pull the grill out, just the top radiator cover. Instructions say to pull the Condensor out with it, however I was able to unclip the condensor from the radiator in the truck and not pull it out.

You guys must remember tho, your vehicle isn't the only car or truck that's in the shop that day that these techs have to work on.

I understand my truck isn't the only one in the shop. However, 3 days to replace leaf springs, the grill, radiator, and align the truck is absurd.

What was wrong with your radiator? Bad batch recalled? Or what? Sounds like someone else had theirs replaced too?

Just wondering if I should be on the lookout for something?

I have done two radiators in 14+ trucks at work, both were leaking in the same spot, on the driver side about 3/4 of the way up ,towards the end. They were both on the inside engine bay side and neither had any signs of impact damage.

If yours is leaking, you'll definetly smell it standing in front of the truck

Hmm, Ill have to check that spot on mine, It's also common for them to leak at the top passenger side corner.

honestly why do you care so much if they give you a car to use in the interim anyway? i'd say 1 day per item is about average.

Because they wanted to keep my truck over night to finish and I needed my truck that night. Had to waste more gas and two more hours of my time taking it back again yesterday
