Missing cab bolt

So I am underneath my truck installing my side bars and they require me to remove the Cab bolts to attach the mounts and on my passenger side there is no rear boalt just a giant rusty hole. I'm livid

I wonder if the dealer had installed nerf bars on your truck and then removed them at some point before you came along.

Only possible if the dealer had NON GM running boards on it as the GM ones do not mount to the body mounts, rather the inside of the rocker panel.

I have had cab and bed bolts not properly tightened on new rides. They should be check on new trucks and Suvs. Yours was most likely missing from the get go. One can ask the service mgr. to check for such on delivery or first in shop oil change etc...

You bring up a very good point, i forgot about that.

Your best option is to go over everything on your own. That way at least you are sure things were checked.

They gave me a new bolt and we're basically clueless as to what happened. Not shocked but rectified
