How do you run your AC?

I almost always keep my AC set on auto and adjust the temperate up or down to my liking.

Do you guys keep it on auto or manual?

Auto almost always with the climate control on my Sierra. Took a while to get used to since I never had that fancy stuff before.

I am in Texas and I keep mine on auto all of the time.No issues keeping the front cool.

Auto. If I remember before I hop out of the truck I turn it all the way down to low so its blows as hard as it can on the next remote start.

I use all AUTO all the time. Temp on 69 or 70 year round. Works great!

Always on AUTO so that I get the appropriate adjustments if I remote start. Usually 70 for the hot months and 72 for the cold. I'd like to run 70 in the winter, too, but it blows cold air on my feet when I do.

I learned from a Pontiac dealer years ago that if the vehicle cabin is very hot in the summer, crack one window open a bit, make sure that the a/c is NOT set to Max or Recirculate, then run it on high fan (or set to a low temp). With these settings, the a/c will blow the super-hot air out of the cabin through the slightly open window.

I notice that on my truck, or most modern vehicles with an automatic/temperature setting on the a/c, the system will automatically start out in Recirculate mode if the cabin is hot. Therefore, it may require taking the system off of Auto mode, pressing the recirculate button a couple of times until you can verify that it is not recirculating the air in the cabin.

Check it out by using the non-recirculate setting, exiting the truck or car, and placing your hand at the open window. You'll feel the very hot air blowing out of the window opening. Then, try it again but set to Recirculate. Place your hand outside that open window and you won't feel the rush of hot air exiting the car. Instead, the a/c is recirculating the hot air, thus making it work harder to first cool off the cabin.

What's auto I have a WT model? LOL.

I remember being in a place so hot that 4/60 just got you hotter quicker. LOL

I run my A/C year 'round on "AUTO". The temp gets adjusted up or down a bit for sun vs. no sun and sometimes in the winter (there's really no winter here in CA, more stuff to hate about this place  ).

I never run in auto. I set the temp to lo and change the fan setting as needed.

I usually put mine on auto as well. It's the first truck I've had that has auto for the HVAC and dual temp so I use it to my advantage. The only time it's not on auto is it I need to defrost or if it's really hot or cold so I put it on LO or HI with the fan all the way up for a little bit and then put it on auto. In the summer I put it on 72° and in the winter I put it on 75°.

It should start up and run full heat or cool whatever you have the system set (off/on) when you remote start it automatically. The early 14 build trucks didn't but there is a fix for that. I had mine reprogrammed the other day.

I run mine in manual mode 100% of the time. I don't like auto personally I like to control all of the settings at all times based on my liking.

With regards to remote starts, I had my HVAC control module updated with the new software that came out after Summer 2014 or somewhere around there so it works like the old GMT900's and adjusts the HVAC settings based on the outside air temperature until I put the key in the ignition and turn the truck on....then it will operate based on my manually set settings.

Auto works fine for me. Just adjust the temps up or down as needed. Occasionally I will have to manually turn the fan speed down if I get a phone call and the air is blasting. But that's the extend of my manual control.
