Front Center Jacking Point

Any tips for jacking the truck up from the front? I put on new wheels

and jacked up each side separately under the a-arms. Where can I

find a central jacking point for the front?

The cross member seems to be completely covered by the front

plastic splash guard (skid plate). I think the splash guard has

metal reinforcements underneath it which I am afraid of crushing

if I jack on it under the cross member.

I could use a 2x4 to spread the load across the cross member but

I'm afraid of it slipping off the jack if I can't hook the cross member

with the raised lips on the jack saddle. My floor jacks have large

diameter saddles (5 to 6 inches).

Thanks for any info you may have.

I personally wouldn't lift the whole front on a center point. I don't even do that for the rear, I always jack up and place a jackstand for each separate side and never put the jack under the rear diff.

I jack the rear up by the diff, but the front I do on each side on the frame. I miss being able to jack the front up in the middle like I did on my old truck. I would imagine if it wasn't for the plastic skid I would be able to find somewhere to do it.

I jack it up at the front cross member through the plastic skid plate. It doesn't hurt anything.

I jack up the rear using the hitch I do the front each side separately

That's what I do, then put a jack stand under each frame rail up front close to the bumper. On the back I jack on the pumpkin and then put a jack stand under each side

I hate to mention this, but the OM does have recommended jacking positions listed under changing a flat tire...

Right but it only lists jack points for the supplied tire jack. I'm looking for hints on center point in the front.

I know the Corvette service manual (and maybe the owners manual too) shows all of the available jacking points.

I was hoping maybe the 2014 service manual showed a similar diagram for the trucks. I can't get a service manual as the 2015 ones are not available yet. I'm betting end of the year at the earliest.
