2016 Ford Limited

Definitely NOT digging the console shifter. Ugly and really sticks out and makes it less clean and looks like a Honda.

I Think my Sierra SLE is every bit as nice as that high dollar ford. I love my stitched dash and black interior

So your SLE has:

Power running boards

Interior LED lighting with multiple colors/dimming

8 inch LED dash cluster

Remote activated tailgate open

Full cab length sunroof/moonroof

Trailer back up assist

Heated rear seats

Rear seat A/C vents

360 degree camera

10 way adjusting massing leather seats

I'm not saying you need or even want these items but you're delusional if you think a Sierra SLE is every bit as nice as the F-150 Limited. Having owned a 2012 F-150 Platinum before my Silverado, the Ford kills the Chevy in fit and finish.

Every review of interior accoutrements in side-by-side comparison (TFL truck etc) all say that GM has the nicest interior.

I just purchased an LT2 all star package and other than lacking the rear slider I have everything I wanted, including leather heated seats for $35k.

While shopping around, I like some of the features Ram offered, but was dismayed to find that I would be paying nearly $50k for a comparable F-150.

Although I did have some reservations with buying a GM product, just based on principles related to the whole bailout thing, I just couldn't justify bankrolling that kind of money right now.

Why is this under this topic? It should be under off topic. Only for Chevy and GMC!

Boot it out of here.

The gm interior might be a better lay out but it's not even close ..the fords interior is ten times better then the gm boys. Heck even the ram has nicer interior then gm IMO.

Also ford has lots more goodies. Like push button, remote tail gate , flat floor crew cab , one touch windows up , led lights just about everywhere on the truck. There is even a tiny led bulb where the tailgate handle is. I love my gm truck but gms quality fit and finish has always been the worse. Better but still lacking.

absolutely agree. for both parties actually. gm makes money on leases there is no doubt but pretty sure they don't want that much inventory turning back in 3 years from now. the car manufactures are creating a problem that will come to head sooner rather than later i believe. people can't continue this trend, imo. just looked at a loan calculator, loaded tahoe is 71k, and if you finance 65k for 75 months at 2.9 your pmt is $950/month. that is crazy. almost double my mortgage!!!!!!

I would envy the $950/month mortgage, let alone $500-600..

The message in the article pertains to all trucks. Your just reading what's on the surface if you think its about the Ford. Basically the message is the how the costs of trucks has gone through the roof. Hence, why GM has pushed the Colorado and Canyon so hard, they are replacing the Sierra and Silverado with them at those price points. The MSRP on a fully loaded Colorado is 40K on a dealer lot here in town. THATS insane. Only a matter of time before it catches back up to them...and us. Living on credit will only get you so far. The future for full size trucks will be for people that need them for work, and the fewer people that can afford them. Having a full size truck in the garage just to look at and use occasionally for the average guy is getting farther out of reach, even more so for the diesel crowd. I'm hearing the next gen Dmax will be a 12K option, and a 2500 Denali will crest over the 70K mark.

As a GM brand person who has never and hopefully will never own a ford I will give the truck the compliments it deserves. It is a very nice looking truck and if you can afford it I'm sure the owner would be glad to have such a nice truck. That being said, I hate anything that isn't a GM.

it took a lot of money down and great credit. it is pretty awesome. can't wrap my head around 1500+ mortgage. just not worth it to me.

For all of our sakes, I hope you're wrong. I think we all hope it never gets to the point where those of us that want/need a full size truck can still afford one. A Colorado/Canyon does not work for me as I really need a full size rear seat for 3 kids car seats and I use the truck bed for, you know, truck things. What we are seeing here is manufacturers pushing the limits to see how high they can make truck prices climb before the consumer starts pushing back. As long as there are people out there that will spend upwards of 50K/60K/70K for a loaded/luxury truck, they'll keep pumping them out. The F-150 Platinum is a very popular model in my neck of the woods which blows my mind, seeing as how my area is not a wealthy area. Luckily for us, no one really pays MSRP for a vehicle. My F-150 Platinum stickered for 55K and I got it out the door for 45K, which was the MSRP on a Lariat. Same with my Silverado LT which stickered for 39K and I got it for 32K OTD. So we'll see how this all plays out and I hope the full size crew cab truck is here to stay.

i hope so too but don't see it slowing down soon. they have to make the money somewhere. the auto industry is going to crash again. i love having a full size truck but don't generally use it as such. that is most people that own them. they have become the latest status symbol. i might look at a lexus gx suv next. get a much better put together vehicle for the same price. holds value a lot better too. V8 and 4wd. plus a third row can't hurt. you can get one for mid 50s and the closest thing gm has to compare is mid 60s and they are still apples to oranges i think.

While I'm not a ford fan I'll admit that they have some features I wish our GM's had. If prices are going up they better add more options and include more standards. Personally I'm not a huge fan of the new 16 GM twins, with that being said if they started adding Denali and high country models with Yukon & Suburban interiors as well as there options and new ones(i.e, heated rear seats, rear ac vents <--seriously! , 360 degree cameras, full lowering rear window like the tundras, all 4 auto up & down windows, keyless/remote less entry like rams, etc. the features go on and on) then I'd gladly upgrade to one. & if they made them right around $55-58kmsrp I think it would sell and excell in being the "ultimate luxury pickup"

They claim that the manufacturers average profit on a truck right now is over $10k. That's based on real selling prices, not MSRPs. The average profit on a car is only $2.5k. The auto market's hot right now, when it slows I think we can expect truck prices to fall by about $7k.
