Man I hate that for you. I wish I could say I'm surprised but people just have no respect for other folks stuff these days. I park at the back of parking lots whenever I can but I know sometimes that's not an option.

Oh man, that's not good. Hope it comes back looking like new. Have you asked restaurant if they have video cameras in lot?

Damn... hope they do a good job repairing it. I had my 06 get backed into while I was at a pizza place one time. It was funny because the kid was was with his mom and she beat him all the way in, made him come inside and apologize, and give me their insurance info. I was pissed but thankful they did the right thing

What the hell makes a straight line down the side of the truck like that? I would say mirror, but you'd think it'd snap off before it went that far.

Sorry to see this, I'd be pissed too.

I won't say what I really think about people who do stuff like this and refuse to accept responsibility because it would get me banned from the internet, put on the "no-fly" list, and investigated by the NSA.

Sorry about your truck though, hope it comes back good as new!

Another reason the motion sensitive dash and rear cams are on my to-do build list. Potentially could have caught a license plate. Sorry to hear about your fortune...

Damn that is a really low thing for someone to do. I just got my truck back from the shop. I know your pain.

Ouch! For $3,400, that sounds like there is significant paint damage, if not dents. I can't tell from the picture, is it dented? Any idea if there is any evidence anywhere?

Sorry to hear this. Hope that you get it all taken care of quickly and correctly.

I had the same experience with a different outcome. Several years ago an elderly gentleman back into me at Costco. He apparently hit the gas instead of the brake pedal, so he hit me pretty hard. Did some major damage to my bumper. The noise of the collision attracted a lot of attention. The guy got out looked at my damage, then drove off. Two good Samaritans came to my rescue. They chased the guy down and got his license plate number, a description of his truck and of him. Police were called before I even got out of the store. The witnesses came back with the information, then stayed to give statements to the police. The police looked up the license number and called the guy. He refused to cooperate with me, but he begrudgingly provided his information to the police officer. I wanted him to be charged with hit and run, but they wouldn't go along with it. When I contacted his insurance they knew nothing about the accident. I think that the old guy just thought that I was going to go away. I made sure that they knew that the only reason that I was talking to them was because of two good Samaritans had chased him down to get the information and that he refused to give me his insurance information even after talking to the police officer. Thankfully he had very good insurance and they paid for everything.

Since I had his address I decided to write him a letter. When he was talking to me, he gave me a pile of shit excuses as to why he left and that he was going to come back. Yeah right he was. I dissected every single one of his excuses in that letter. I never expected to hear back from him, or even to have him read that letter. Oh he read that letter alright, and he wrote one back about a month later with, finally, an apology.

One of his many excuses was there was no parking near my vehicle after he hit me. In my letter I explained that NO ONE in their right mind would have parked in the space that he just pulled out of, since he had just caused an accident. So why didn't he go back into that space?

Definitely looks dented under the handle, the small cab part, and in front of the wheel flair. Man, I'd be beside myself with rage! Hope it gets fixed good as new. I'm almost having a hard time picturing what caused that, would have had to have been a very rigid maybe metal old school mirror.

Unfortunately it was a large dent/scratch. Something really large and heavy. I actually am a lawman for the area it occurred in and know that the business has no surveillance. I parked in an empty area of the lot to avoid any type of car/truck parking near me. Just my luck.

The good news is that I got my truck back sooner than expected. A great body shop I've used for the past decade and has taken care of my family over and over again (accident prone family).
