LED vs HID vs Halogen (stock)

Same as the ones in my headlight :smoker:

18000 lumen in total without any light bars.

My fogs lights up everywhere my main headlight doesnt.

As a matter of fact, I just played around with my offset more, my highbeam is way better now. Cant wait to try it tonight!!

Nice!!!! What did you do to get them to fit into the fogs? I thought about the Rigid D2 but they just look too small in the hole to me. Also I don't care if they are street legal or not because I would only use them as high beams.

The bulbs comes with different types of fittings depending on how you ordered them, if you order 5202, they come with the 5202 adapter that goes on the same type of bulb.

I had to JB weld the adapters for the 5202 though, they do not fit very well

Are those XD5202 fogs PNP? I have a 15 Denali 5.3L im trying to find the best bulb combo to achieve the same "white light" output. Im not to concerned about running a "fogs on with Highs" MOD. More concerned about "white light" output... Thanks in advance.

Yes they are PNP. They are nice and white. Also I found it much easier to remove the whole lens to replace the bulbs. I could not get them to go in with the o-ring so I took it out of the grove and pushed it all the back and then got them to go in.

Id like to try running vleds for my headlights, but i bave a silverado with non-projectors. Is there any work-around to get these, or similar functioning led headlights, that will work with my drls?

You can still use them, I think they work better in reflectors, my fogs seems to be distributing the light way better than my projectors.

Yea , but my low beams double as drl...

What's this talk about lenses melting? Anyone experience those issues with regular headlights (non-projector) and fogs?

LEDs produces less heat than both HIDs and Halogen.

The fan that cools LED is just to extend the life span of it, LED is a semiconductor, lifespan is affected at higher temperatures

Basically, i need to know if the leds will function at lower voltages for drls? Or is there a capacitor setup i would need, or something similar? Any help appreciated. Id like to pull the trigger on these.

Not a good idea, I think you will break the driver. Typically, the LED itself is fine to be at a lower voltage. But this is got a LED driver/controller.

Best bet to make sure it works with SLE DRL us using a relay that will work from 6-12 v and a capacitor in parallel to even out the PWM. Then powet back to the LEDs then you will be golden :)

Can you take a picture from the backside of the headlights? I would like to know how they look plugged in, and what you did with the headlight cover.

Do you have pics of the high beam? And when you say offset what exactly do you mean?

I bought 2 more OEM caps and they go on just fine

No, I basically have unbranded 4500lm LMZ bulbs (yes, 4500 each)

Offset as in the depth the diodes are set into the housing. There is threading to the adaptor collar allows you to adjust how far in or out it should be.
