Lop sided 2015 Sierra 1500

I have a brand new 2015 Sierra 1500 (SLE/All Terrain) - 1500 km on it. This is the first American vehicle I've owned and also my first truck. I noticed that my truck, while sitting on my paved driveway seems to sag to the driver's side. A quick measurement confirmed that it sags about an 1"/25 mm compared to the passenger side. I also noticed that the rear axel assembly seems pushed to right/passenger side as well - not sure if this is a function of the sag. I'll have to confirm again on another surface, but my driveway is pretty neutral. I understand that the driver's side is no doubt heavier than the passenger side, but surely the engineers account for this when balancing the vehicle.

Any thoughts ... thank you!

Pretty common.

(but I always thought it was more common with the torsion bar suspension )

Mine seems to lean toward the right instead.

Thanks for the links, I'll check them out.

One thing I keep reading is people talking about the asymmetrically placed gas tank (causing this). Mine was less than a 1/4 full when I measured the sag - would probably be much worse with 98 litres on board ... add to that my 195 lbs in the driver's seat - yikes.

Measure it with the tank full and see where it's at.

And the Chevy lean is pretty common.

If you drive around for a few days with this in mind, look at any of the trucks your behind. I'd say 6-8 out of 10 trucks have some sort of lean to them. Just the nature of the beast. Usually has to do with rear components such as leaf springs from what I've gathered. Very common occurrence.

Could be your truck is leaning to the left because it is a liberal?

Ok, ok - bad joke... Sorry :seeya:

I'd put money on it that if you went around and measured trucks of all major brands you'd find most have some lean to them. Mine has a 1/4" variation side-to-side. I also found that even a small amount of unevenness/levelness in the pavement exacerbated that difference. I was measuring my truck just before I lifted it to track the change in ride height. I had to search all over town to find a truly level surface to take the measurement because the numbers were so varied.
