Sad Vibe Day

I was | | that close to buying a 2015 Sierra with the max trailering package. After talking to a service rep at the dealership about the vibration issue, I decided no way. They said not all trucks have the issue. They didn't say it's rare or it's fixed, they said NOT ALL TRUCKS. I could tell they were dancing.

Funny thing happened after the call. There are two new Silverados in the parking lot where I work. I found one of the owners and asked if he had vibrations issues and how old his truck was. He looked surprised, like how would I know that. He said yes and my truck is 6 months old. He also said it doesn't happened all the time but it is pissing him off.

What do you think the odds are on getting the vibes? Ford wins. Dang it.

No vibrations out of my 14 or my 15. I think it is a very small percentage of trucka built that do vibrate. It just so happens that they are all on here talking about it. Go test drive the truck for a few days. Most dealers will allow this if you are serious about buying it. Drive it a lot on different roads at different speeds including highway and a little over, 80ish. You should know if it vibrates after driving it for a few days.

Ford wins what exactly? Smaller engine? Much lower mpg? Ugly award? I will say, the Ford has more interior room but being that I am 6' 3", 250, the GMC has tons of room and I didn't need anymore. I have a 2015, and have no vibration issue. Only issue I have is being overly sexy while driving it

Would you rather them lie to you that it has never happened?

GM has sold roughly 600,000 units to date this year. http://news.pickuptrucks.com/2015/10/best-selling-pickup-trucks-september-2015.html

Was on the Ford forum a couple months ago & their complaint page was long.

But if you want to avoid vibrations, maybe the F150 is the way to go?

The point is not to bash Ford or any vehicle mfg. But there are no perfect products, particularly on the internet.

I have a '14 and a '15 Sierra, no vibration. Having visited the f**d site, I would suggest you consider a Ram.

People over on the other brand forums have the same types of issues and complaints as I see here.

Vibrations, Shifting, Clunks.

There are lot of brake complaints on the 2015 F150's I think there was even a recall over it and people are still not happy.

2015 Silverado CC 5.3 LT here. No Vibrations. Chances are that if you go on a nice long test drive, and the truck doesn't have them to begin with, it probably won't develop them. As others have said, there have been over 1M of these trucks sold since 2014 and I would guess less than 5% have issues of any kind, including vibrations. What I am saying may matter to you but I suspect that it wont. Your post screams TROLL POST in my very advanced Trollmeter 2.0. The skeptical side of me says that you and maybe many others on this site are over-exaggerating a very infrequent, but still present for some, problem. I test drove over 7 different GM trucks and one of them road rough (because it was a z71) and none of them had vibrations.

I have to say after all the issues I've had , vibration was not one of them. Again though just keep in mind when you sell that many vehicles , a small percentage will have issues. It's every truck maker has issues.

Here's my whole take on the vibration thing. There appear to be several causes to the vibration, and everyone drives their trucks in different places, so it's very hard to nail down exactly what is causing it. Some are definitely worse than others. Case in point was a 2015 CC 2wd I recently had as a service loaner. It vibrated all the time. I understood what people were talking about.

I have had two K2XX trucks, and neither one had what I consider to be a vibration "issue". They both have behaved identically. There is one stretch of highway 75 north of Plano that is old concrete. It has a distinct waviness to it for about 5 miles. You can actually see it if you look far in front of you, almost like small ripples on a smooth lake. My truck vibrates on this stretch of highway. Nowhere else. It's not bad, and it doesn't last for the entire stretch, but it happens. Oh, and it only happens in that 65 - 75 mph range. I'm sure it has to do with resonance at a certain speed, coupled with the bad pavement.

Now If I commuted along that 5 mile stretch of road every day and nowhere else, I would be at the dealer too. But there, it would be hard to duplicate. Therein lies the rub.

For me, since it only ever happens in this one place, that I drive on very infrequently it's not an issue. For others, it may be more of an issue.

99.9% of the time, my truck is smooth, solid and quiet inside. And I LOVE driving it!

Oh yeah, then there is that sexiness thing.

I've had a 2014 and now a 2015. I've also had several (probably 6) loaners/rentals of this body style. Not one had a vibration issue.

But I do have the problem with being overly sexy while driving! LOL!

I'm smelling a troll...
