Morning all!

As much as i wanted to come in here with good news! Unfortunately, GM went and changed everything on us. It is NOT a plug and play scenario.

I do still think it will be a simple re-pin situation and maybe resistor at worst case. I am meeting at a friends shop tonight who is a wiring master. I called him last night and he said it doesnt sound like anything outta the norm and should be able to be done pretty easily.

Sorry all. I was disapointed myself. But i have these things, im on a mission to make them work. Its a light, cant be that hard!

Same as the GMC then. The wiring diagrams are online, all you need is the style plug.

you happen to have a link to that diagram?

I suspect they run on different voltages and there is a control unit somewhere hopefully not in the light it's self like Ford did. It cost a fortune to replace tail lights on the new F150's.

Highly unlikely they're anything but 12 volts. Why change from what everything else is? Fords high end tails have the blind spot monitor hardware inside which is why they cost so much.

Nothing alittle wiring can't fix! Did require a resistor for hyper flash, but no biggy! Things look awesome!

Please show us what was involved to do this.. wires, resistors.. please. Did you use ur existing wires? Or did you use the wires that came with the lights.

More than likely this was a hack job unless they had the correct connector laying around and pinned it out correctly. Anything to get it up and running at this point.

I'd bet it was just a little trail and error seeing what pins do what with the new tails and wiring it up. As we know a resistor is required because of the light load LED's provide.

If the price on the OEM tails would drop I would consider this swap.

Hack job? Yea I'm gonna hack job a install on my 60k truck. That was a pretty arrogant thing to say. It is all tested, draw, amps, voltage etc. We used the stock harness and repinned it correctly and also a new connector at the taillight housing. The schematic that was linked up above helped. This isn't some "hack job" with butt connectors or twisting wires together.

If you wire up a clean, professional OEM-looking PnP harness with built-in resistors and correct connectors and pinout, I would think eBay and forum members would pay you a fair price. Could be nice side money on your end.

Thank you. This is something we were thinking about. Just has to make sense. I will try to get some pics of my "hack job" to post for everyone.
