Local dealership now has the new 16 model. I stopped to check them out and the ltz version does appear to have the led rear lights. The housings look exactly the same as previous 14/15. So who's gonna be the first to see if they are interchangeable?

Someone will have to very nicely ask a dealer they have a good relationship with to remove a tail light so the connectors, mounts, etc can be matched to the 14 and 15 trucks.

I'm almost positive they just changed the internals. They didn't redesign the bed or the tailgate. I bet the harness is the same to.

I am willing to bet the connectors aint gonna fit because the connectors them selves are sockets for the bulbs on the 14-15.

new ones will for sure be a harness that plugs in to the back of it as the LED boards and lights will probably be integrated in the housing just like how the SLT headlights are designed.

you will need to by the connector to splice your current wiring to the new connector to go into the backup light :(

My bad, I thought they had a pigtail that connected all the bulbs to the vehicle harness.

The pigtail actually reaches all the way to the rear control module. Still possible if those connections are the same.

You are correct, it is possible. But I dont think it will work as part of the BCM detection for bulb failure. LEDs will draw less and the BCM will be freaking out about bulbs are defective.

I did a led taillight swap on my 2010 corvette z06 and nothing freaks out. Maybe have to hook in some sort of resistor possibly. I still think this has a shot at a direct swap.

Who cares about connectors, main thing is will they mount and fit? Also have to assume they aren't doing anything funky with different voltages for different functions. Most likely then one could simply splice in new connectors and splice in resistors so you don't get a turn signal indicator warning. As soon as someone confirms they will fit my Anzo's are going up for sale.

Its possible they changed things for the LTZ's but I would assume the lights are already set up to be plug and play when used with the correct harness due to the fact that the LT's down will still have bulbs.
