Best Guide found on the internet for Tow Mirror upgrades

I am not endorsing this site nor have I made a purchase. After extensive research, multiple dealer conversations, YouTube and Google searches, I believe the below site has the best information available to make sure the tow mirror upgrade will work on your truck. It includes information on installed options, part numbers, and whether or not a BCM or memory module reflash is required.

 

Go to w.w.w.shopchevyparts.com, select your year, make and model in the catalog, select trailering and find the tow mirrors for your truck. Click the link to see the part. The link will open and in the upper left hand corner there is a table with all of the unique options and part numbers listed. click to enlarge the table. The RPO codes are located in your upper glove box. I believe DL3 and DL8 are the common ones for power mirrors. Buy your mirrors from any vendor of your choice.

 

I also learned that vehicles with regular mirrors do not have the reinforced door panel for the tow mirrors. The panel has an extra hole in the template that needs to be drilled out (4 vice 3 bolts) to support the tow mirrors.

Yes, it is the same mirrors (set) that my dealer priced at $800 (MSRP $725 for the set). The harnesses were $125 each at my dealer (I believe MSRP is $125), but I found the harness at other websites for about $65 each.
