Is what the GMC dealer told me true?

When the truck is being built and it roll to the end of the assembly line, if it starts on the first try, they make it a GMC. Otherwise, they make it a Chevy?

I can't tell if you are serious. Think about it... if it's at the end of the assembly line that means they have installed the front grille. No this isnt true. The chevy and the gmc have different lighting on the interior and different front ends.

They only build gmc's in the middle of the week. All the monday and friday trucks are chevs.

Says so on the internet, so it must be true.

Since GMC is professional grade, they are made by the professional workers. The Chevys are made by the interns and new hires

I hope your question isn't serious though! because they got the same features!

Just exterior little touches and of course this matters for marketing purposes.

To let customers choose between two brands which both of them owned by one entity so it doesn't matter which one wins at the end

They got it backwards...those that start the first time is given the Chevrolet name plate. Those that don't start the first time get the GMC plate. GMC stands for "Gotta Mechanic Coming". That way they know which one to fix.
