Long time lurker, first time posting. Recently traded my '09 Sierra on a 2016 version. Some specs:

SLT Crew Z71 4x4

5.3L w/ 8speed

3.42 diff w/ G80 locker

20" polished aluminum wheels

Onyx black w/ black interior

My '09 was a good truck and there is always some sadness on my part when trading in an old faithful rig. Having said that the 2016 is way beyond the GMT900. The more I drive this new one the more I like it and I really liked it when I took delivery.

A few observations:

- The headlights on this thing are terrific. I know that was a concern with the '14&15 but GM really nailed it with these LED lights.

- I really like the electric assist power steering

- Apple CarPlay is a really neat feature. The graphics seems overly simplistic compared to GM's standard screen but it is very easy to use.

- I really like how they have done the park assist sensors on the 2016 compared to my old truck. Very handy.

- Lane assist can be a hoot. It and crash avoidance seem to be obviously aimed at distracted driving / texting.

- The LED dome lights seem a little dim compared to my old truck. I will be doing the footwell LED light mod soon.

A few questions:

- Does anyone make real metal interior door pulls / handles for these trucks? The stock ones feel cheap to me.

- Has anyone upgraded the rear seat console area? My '09 had rear radio controls at least. The back of this console is nothing but 2 holes and a single plug.

- Anyone running the Amp plug and play PowerSteps? How hard was installation? I am about to ditch the stock chrome bars and install some Amps.

- I have never owned a black vehicle so I assume I am in for a world of pain to keep this thing looking good?

If anyone has any questions about the new trucks just ask and I will answer as best I can.

Nice truck, Congrats on the purchase.

As for keeping Black looking good, as far as I am concerned it is no different then any other color if taken care of properly.
I use nothing but Adams products and they are fantastic. You can get a lot of info by watching there video's or going to there forum. Ask any question you want on the forum and someone will give you a quick answer.

As you can see by my avitar picture I have had two black trucks. The one on the bottom is three years old but now I have the new truck on top.
