Just ordered a 2016 SLT 6.2

I've been on the fence about whether to get a 2500 Duramax or a 1500 6.2 Max Trailering. Given the fact that I will be towing my tractor maybe 4-6 times a year I figured I would get the 1500. I'm sure the 2500 will pull "better" than the 1500 when loaded but I couldn't justify it in my head.

I'm getting a Summit White crew cab short bed 4wd SLT with the Max Trailering with the 6.2. I'm excited about it. It is pretty much optioned out with everything except a sunroof. The last 5 cars/SUV's/trucks I've had have had a sunroof and I might use it once or twice a year. I had to order one since, according to the dealer, there wasn't one with the options that I wanted within 250 miles. It is supposed to be delivered around the end of Feb.

You will like it im sure white trucks look real sharp. We have a 2011 6.2 with the 6 speed so it aint exactly like yours but I pulled a tractor a number of times on my car hauler it did fine. Good choice

I've seen some online setup like that, same thing for my my towing didn't warrant a 3/4 vs everyday driving, in order to get into a new truck u had to give up options, I went with the all terrain for looks and full center console, had to go sle and get cloth, bug things I gave up were leather and roof, I do miss leather but until someone mentions it I don't even realize the roof is missing

The salesman just emailed me and said my truck has a VIN now and the scheduled delivery date is Feb 22. I'm starting to get excited.

Truck stickered at $59,315. He said the price was $55,000 and then any rebates at delivery. I'm sure I will get it for less. I have started on them yet.

You can use the Laura online advertised discount to help negotiations, their half a dozen 6.2L trucks in both 2015 and 2016 MY's show an average discount off MSRP at circa $10k+.

Your configuration is why I bought this truck. Congrats and enjoy.

The salesman said that he thinks my build might be a week earlier than previously thought. So, I could possibly have my truck around February 16 or 17. I am pretty excited.

Something is fishy.

You posted before that it had a vin -- they don't issue vins until it's on the line.

If it has a vin then the truck has been built.

Salesman can be annoying somethimes.

He said that it had a vin but he wouldn't know it until it had a invoice. Not sure if that's the case or not.

His order system will report the vehicle is produced as that is when the VIN is available. When it ships they will get the invoice.

My Denali was built on Monday 05/18/15 and shipped on same date, dealer got invoice on Tuesday 05/19/15 with a eta of 06/03/15. It arrived on the very day the "shipping expired in transit", 06/03/15.

I have found with many dealers that the salesmen only know what management wants them to know.

Today's non-update.

I do not have any new news to pass on to you other than it has made it to phase 3400. I know that means nothing to you but to me it tells me the next phase is for it to be shipped. I will keep a close eye on it this week to see if the status changes to "Shipped". If it does, I will be able to give you a VIN#. Hopefully you will hear from me later in the week with that information.

It isn't much but it's progress.
