Other Daily Driver

For those of you that don't use your Silverado as a daily driver, what are you driving? I have a Sonata that I drive to work and use my truck to pull our 30' travel trailer and to drive on the weekend. The Sonata's lease is up soon so I'm trying to decide if I should drive the truck everyday or get something else to take to work. Just wondering what else people are driving in addition to their trucks.

 

When it's not raining or snowing, my DD is a 2015 C7 Z51.

I work from home, so my daily thrill is running to the Company PO Box to get the mail and then taking a "quick" county road detour on the way back! The manual says that if I put it in ECO mode I can get near 28MPG ... just can't seem to find that setting LOL.

The "other" car will be shared with my teenage daughter at least she will learn to drive in it. She's not learning to drive in my truck!! We are getting my wife a Traverse soon as her lease is also up and car is also too expensive for a teenager to learn in. I thought about a Prius, (my commute is 67 miles round trip) but its still somewhat expensive for a teenager to drive on occasion and the dash drives me insane, sooooo ugly! The new Volt looks nice, but charging sounds like a PITA. Any other ideas?

 

A one or two year old, low mileage, Civic or Corolla. Way south of $40K, reliable, low maintenance, easy to drive for a new driver, should be about as affordable as anything for insurance, and both get good gas mileage for the commute.

 

Back to topic, my DD duties are shared between the Sierra and a '14 4Runner.

I commute 45 miles each way every day - so my Denali stays in the garage. Ironic I know, but my DD is a 2011 Sonata 2.0T. It now has 100k on it...

My daily is a 2002 Chevy 2500HD. 20 mile daily commute, in the city. Not that far, but when you're feeding an 8.1L.....

My main transportation is one of my Harleys. I travel on my '07 Streetglide with a little motor work. Around town and day tripping in the Mountains I ride my tricked out Fat Boy with a lot of motor work! Cold or wet weather my Silverado is always there. Love them all!

My truck is basically my daily driver, but when I'm not driving it I'm usually in the Charger or on my Harley.

My DD is actually my truck but when the weather is nice I try to take my camaro 2ss out as much as possible. It's nice driving 2 6.2s!

Another C7 here. Great roads in East TN and can drive it all year. I put about 6-7K on the vette and 7-8K on the truck a year. Each has its purpose, of course the kids dont fit well in the back of the Corvette

I was dding the truck but the last one hit 100k kms in 2 years and I've had the 15 for 3 months and have 12k kms on it already, so just picked up a 04 ga gt to dd.
