I just bought a T1000 and have been trying to read through the 50 plus pages but there is so much info on the 6.2, 5.3 and scattered post in the discussion it was over whelming. So, who has a 5.3 tune with a Diablo tune and would discuss what tunes they like, dislike and beginner info? What is AMF and TM?

AFM = Active Fuel Management. I believe Diablo calls it DOD instead. Just when you think you have it figured out, another acronym to keep track of...

I have found that using to much throttle boost will hurt transmission performance.

I have a intune i2 and my settings are 87 octane tune with modified stock trans

Dod turned off and all shift pressure up 10%

I noticed much better performance feel from the transmission with the throttle boost at 0%

I have tm turned off and trans line pressure turned up all the way. It still doesn't seem to shift very hard. What is nice with the Diablo is that you can change the trans settings for normal mode and diff settings for tow haul mode. So you have mild to no trans tune in normal mode, but turn tm off and boost line pressure in tow/haul mode for spirited driving. I have tm and line pressure maxed in both normal and tow haul mode. And of course adjusted for new tire size and got rid of the 98mph speed governer.

I have just a firm shirt tune and limiter removed drives great shifts are definitely better in 2wd. The only funky thing about the firm shift it bangs at wot and on down shift from 2-1 or any gear to 1 or 2 in auto 4wd drives great in 2wd so not sure what the issue is on that one haven't tried tow haul mode yet to see if it plays nicely there..

(Only mod on truck is a ported throttle body).

With an i1000 are there threads specifically for them. I want to read up on them before I plug it I and screw something up.

Go to the Diablo forum and read all the issues with the tunes. Make sure you try to install the tunes in a location you can leave the truck sit in case it bricks the ECM. Yes, I have one from my 2011 GMC and no, I won't hook it up to my 2015 Chev.

Horrible issues with my Diablo Trinity. Try to install it on my 2016, and no such tune exists. Contact customer support weekly with zero updates. Finally update tuner again, and still doesn't pull up a 87 octane tune.

Now it won't let me return to stock tune, it says it already is. But it obviously isn't, I turned the AFM off it. Now there telling me to reflash the computer at the dealer. I'm unsure how that will work...I suggested just sending me a sprig device, and all I get are 1 sentence monotone answers whether it's via email or phone.

Does your 16 have a 6 speed or an 8 speed? The 8 speed isn't supported yet.
