Yup another lights thread, no we don't have a problem with our professional grade headlights on out 14/15 Sierra's no really that's not why we redesigned our 1500 front end and lights, really...

Nope that's not why the 2016 2500 get hid's now, really, ya really,

Was at service today and they brought a new 16 denali to install bug guards I was blown away, we went through part numbers and definitely seems there not interchangeable, expensive as hell like $2xx expensive, and u know what I would probably do it,

Thanks GM/GMC

I once bought a car and it came with an inline 6 cyl, next year it was the v8. Same thing when they added power steering. Same with power brakes. I was really pissed when they made air conditioning standard. I once bought a new car and it came with an 8 track player, next year it was a cassette, I bought a cassette car and dammit, they went to cd's the next year. One year my ride came with bias ply tires, next year, yep you guessed it RADIALS! I was happy with a map in the glovebox, then the next year came g.p.s.

Moral of the story, change/upgrades in design is inevitable.

that's true, but in this case GM could have put better lights in and decided it wasn't worth doing for the customer - the technology was already available - hell, I would have paid an addiitonal $200-500 as a GM option to put in the best HID lighting rather than the piss poor lights in there now...

BS!!!

The headlights on the '14/'15 are to dim a d there should have been a recall to address it, 99.9% of people don't test drive when it is dark so it is not as if this would have been noticed.

We are not talking like the OP is upset because he didn't get the latest/greatest headlights instead he got some crappy dim lights, this puts himself and his family at risk.

OP I would add a light bar and call it a learning experience.

I once bought a truck that had manual locking 4x4. The next year they were push button automatic hubs. Those crooks at GM!

GMC really dropped the ball on their headlights, they are possibly the worst headlights I've ever experienced. I think my 95 Ford Taurus had better lights. I traded in my Sierra a couple of months ago and a big deciding factor in dumping that truck was that the headlights were in my opinion dangerous. If I had kept it I would have had to sink money into a top end HID kit and or a LED light bar.....Combined with the fact that I had worn out the tires on the sierra, it was a v6 and the fact that I got such a good deal on the new SIlverado that the cost was pretty much the same for the new truck it was a no brainier.

Ya I try not to get crazy on this but its tough, I mean the PIT is out because of a reason, and all this just follows along, no reason we aren't getting this as a safety recall, I have a mylink issue right now, but otherwise I gotta say I'm pretty happy, I personally made a mistake with color, turns out I don't like change but Ive said this time and time again,

There is absolutely positively in no way shape or form that my 2005 should be superior to a 14, and you don't have to look past the headlights to find one

I was gonna play with the lights but I got flustard reading all the threads on here and youtube's I gave up

Did you take it in and have them install the upgraded vosla bulbs?

Yup I was the first one into my dealer the day they released it (thank you GM trucks) this forum is extremely helpful, but they seem to be dulling out, and even the day I got them they didn't help the "dead spot" to the sides

Your argument is completely invalid. The moral however, is spot on.

HID's wont fix the issue with coverage either since it is a reflector issue and focal point issue that determines beam spread and coverage.

All these improvements on the new ones and then they have the nerve to charge more for them. :fume:

    • Looking up on the web you can the information that would seem obvious. You asked engine components to do more. You get more wear. The answer is they can last just as long but required more maintenance. Apparently having to change lifters, cam and associated components are maintenance or repairs. In some research the normal life span of valve train components are 80-100 miles with 3-5K miles oil change. So the next logical conclusion would be cost per mile. I use that analogy with my wife all the time with vehicles. My Odyssey is approaching 170K. The cost per mile will go up at 200K with maintenance. Looking at a low cost car. A K-4 with a 10-10 warranty. Selling my Ridgeline that’s about to hit the same maintenance milestone. My argument becomes not only I get worry free driving. But at no cost increases. Because I take the money from my Ridgeline and maintenance savings and other potential savings. I’m driving for free. So tying it with a bow. It makes you wonder. Is this a grand conspiracy by the auto makers? Raise the potential maintenance high enough. Buyers by extended warranty to 100K miles. Do the minimum maintenance required. Trade in at the warranty end. How long should they last? That question is what keeps people up at night. The answer is much more complicated than it used to be.
    • Could you cite your source on this?  I cannot find any reference to the US secretly taking the oil.  I find references that the US helped oil tankers move through the Strait of Hormuz, but nothing about what you're stating.
    • Same thought, also the everything doesn't have the details real photos do (talking about the noise in the photo)
    • Since the media YOU and your buddies are programmed to watch failed to mention this, I'll fill you in.   Trump admitted today that we've grabbed 150 MILLION barrels of oil from the Iranian tankers locked in the Strait by our Navy. We turned off their transponders, took them out to sea in the dark of night since they have zero radar capabilities anymore, offloaded every drop onto another vessel, and put them back by morning so no one was the wiser. That oil has been en-route THROUGHOUT the entire conflict.   Main reason he admitted this is to let even guys on our own side who joined leftists in complaining about the prices that he hears us all, and has taken steps to make sure this didn't spiral into a BAD situation ... just like the mainstream media has been PRAYING would happen, just so they could gloat. Amazes me how these people are rooting for the destruction of THEIR OWN HOME, just to make a President they don't agree with or like look bad! That's next level TDS!   I know your not capable of giving our President the benefit of the doubt, again due to your deep programming, but THIS is why oil never hit $150 a barrel as predicted by your programmers, AND the reason oil continues falling. Like I said before, Trump's got a plan, and this is proof of it. By the end of his term, we're going to be in GREAT shape for a change!   Since I just spent $3,000 this week on #2 heating oil and gasoline, the war most certainly is ending! 🤣   https://mxmnews.com/article/ba359ac9-2711-4851-92de-187f2400f2dd?breaking-trump-cancels-iran-strikes-deal-now-approved-by-all-parties
    • No leaks. Replaced the condenser 3 years ago. Problem was found to be caused by the A/C blend door actuator. Just replaced it and it's blowing out the cold air it used to when I bought it.
