What weight and brand is everyone running? She only has 40k miles and is ran hwy and city. And has anyone done a spark plug change to a different brand with any noticeable difference?

Ac Delco DEXOS 5W30 syn blend. Its the factory fill in all new GM vehicles, even the vett.

Nope. Stick with OEM.

 

5w-30, your choice of brands. Any name brand oil will do the trick. Synthetic or dino

Based on age, I would warm up the truck, take them out and put some COPPER never seize on them, you will thank me at your 100K interval... I would do the exhaust manifold bolts as well. in fact I would Upgrade them and use Copper never seize, NOW before things become one in there.

Only ever used AC Delco plugs and 5W-30 (sometimes 10W-30 if 5 not on the shelf) for engine oil. I always have used OEM plugs as I have seen the results of not using them and it never ends good for the engine or plugs.

Same here, stick with OEM. Tons of posts showing they are the best ones to use.

 

5w-30 synthetic or conventional in any major brand will serve you well.

On my '06 6.0 I've been using 10w-30 Mobil 1 for years. Doesn't get cold here in FL so no real need for the 5w.

I run mobil 1 extended performance 5w-30 in my uncle's '14 sonic and '13 Silverado with the 5.3. In my '02 with the 6.0 I run mobil synthetic high mileage 5w-30 and when I replaced the crappy champion plugs I put in NGK tr5 plugs. I've always had good luck with NGK.
