2016 Silverado

Ok... first thing's first - Canadian prices, and mileage.

So I'm currently in a 2014 Sierra SLE Double Cab, All Terrain, with 86,500 KM. I get preferred pricing (dealer invoice +1%) and I do not pay taxes.

I got the Sierra for a sale price of 47,000 CAD. it had a sticker price of 53,750 CAD. I put some money down and have been paying for 2.5 years and currently owe 21,000.

The dealer is offering me 25,000 but I may have a sale for 29,000 (this weekend).

I went to the dealer and I'm considering a 2016 Silverado, 4x4, Crew, LT, Short box w/ 2LT,Z71 option, jet black front 40/20/40 leather, cargo tie downs, interior driver assist handle, spray in liner, mud flaps, vent visors, bug deflector, a 4" lift with aftermarket 18" wheels and 33" KO2s. MSRP of 55,437 but final sale price of 50,637.

Considering my trade in value, of 29,000. I have net difference of 25,130 + applicable fees and my lien of 21,000 I have a final price of 45,500.

The good about my current truck:

- no accidents, 33" tires, n-fabs, tonneau cover, lighting done all around, interior is like-new with only the driver seat seeing wear

The bad:

- trailer brake issue has be intermittent

- coming up on a peak maintenance area (100k KM) for brakes, possible wear parts, tie rods, bearings, etc.

My questions is, does the pricing sound right or OK for the new package I'm considering?

Is it a good time to get rid of my vehicle, being ahead of the loan and in a good position financially? Or is it worth running my truck to the ground (considering 90k KM in 2.5 years)?

Ultimately I have 2.5 years left on my current vehicle (which I feel is a gamble in a sense) or I can hit the reset button and have the same payment (+$25 b/w) to own a new one for another 5 years.

Any help is appreciated... I'm really leaning towards that new Silverado. Thanks,

Matt

That's $40k USD for the new truck in a 2LT before TTL?

I got a 2LTZ Z71 midnight edition for $45.5k before TTL with Borla dual exhaust, Kicker sub/amp, and window tint included in the price...Black OEM wheels & 265/65/18 All Terrain Tires.

So I personally think you could do better with the price on the truck - dealers throw aftermarket items and tend to jack up the price too high. Maybe ask for an exhaust system/GM CAI on the truck you're looking at for the same price? If he won't do it, take the exact same deal and go to another dealer and ask them...one always bites.
