GM Rebates????? why so much difference?

Hi Fellow members,

Was checking out truck rebates here in Canada and wow what a difference in rebates 3000 for a Crew and 7580.00 for a double Cab, I wonder if it's the same for the rebates in the USA????

Ordered a Crew cab and suppose to be built this week,kinda makes you wonder why the rebate is not as good as Double cab.

Yupp, it's all about manufacturing capacity and what the market is buying.

Crew and double are not made in the same plant, so manufacturing capacity is NOT interchangeable.

Not for me...tight Double cab rear seating works out great.......threw the extra $4K+ into options and don't have to drag around annoying relatives Moe, Larry and Curly.

A 2016 Crew in Canada has $2,000 stackable, $3,500 non-stackable (in lieu of 0%) on LT1 trim & up, $1,600 off if it has PDU or $1,000 off if it doesn't have PDU. Then, it also has another $1,000 after taxes if you apply for a Scotiabank GM Visa card (whether you take it our not, just apply). That totals allot more than $3,000 in my head.

Double cab has $1,000 higher stackable and $80 higher non-stackable. So there is only $1,080 difference in rebates between a crew and a double.

A co worker has a db and said space was his biggest complaint, and next go around he'll get a crew because a lot of times he's taking friends and stuff out on the weekend.

I said hell, dc is my excuse to not be a chauffeur. I'll pay extra for that.

You can have the best of both worlds by getting a crew with the standard box too.

For anyone that doesn't know, the crew with the 5'8" box is exactly the same length as the doublecab. (143.5" wheelbase. 229.5" overall length)

I don't like the short box, so tried a double cab so it could fit in the garage. Didn't like the double cab access (but I still think they look better) so I'm back to a crew with the standard (6.5ft) - and it has to sit outside.

Crew stump is not practical or useful to me anyway..... I had crews in the past ( like my 05 1500HD) and I don't want another crew cab..... wasted space. If you haul people.... cool..... I don't. I could my passenger seat out and toss it for all the times it gets used lol..... and would almost run a reg cab if you could get a 6.2 in one.

Looking at new trucks right now as I thought of dumping my Tundra..... drove a 2.7 Ecoboost F150 and it impressed me more than the 3.5 Eco trucks do..... but holy hell does Ford want a mint for their junk. A nicely appointed double cab XLT stickers about the same as a LTZ Chev...... yeah..... no. The sticker on what I would want is only about 3 grand less than the window sticker on my loaded 2015 6.2 double cab LTZ..... and they have no rebates worth even mentioning right now.

I found the proper way to kill the Tundra's traction control so now I can accelerate on a gravel road without it shutting down so I might keep it lol.. plus it does awesome pavement donuts and burnouts my Chev can only dream of doing lol. Still not a huge fan... and that 2.7 Eco I drove would hand the ass to my 5.7 Tundra in a drag race lol.
