Why?! oh why is that gap there between the hood and grill. Is there a real purpose to this? I cannot see one. It is like they planned to have hood stick out/down to fill in that spot and after producing the grills just said meh screw it. Looks like an eyesore to me as all the other lines and contours have a flow and then at front is just a gaping hole.

I just do not get it what gives but I hope that goes away in 2017 or 18.

You do know there's 2 rubber knobs under the hood on the front to adjust the height of the hood right? They're near the radiator, one on each side. Just turn them to move them up or down.

Maybe it's to give better clearance to make it easier to unlatch the hood once you pop it to open it.

I thought you meant it was a gap between the hood and the rest of the truck.

Nope but I do now.

Do not think you understood what gap I meant though.

This in the front top of the grill, no amount of adjusting can fix that. Just does not seem to have a purpose or is it is me and that is actually aesthetically pleasing?

Just another one of GM's styling touches. Hard to pick that one out among the other 60 lines going every which way on the front end.

I like the new model front end personally but that just I dunno looks like it was designed by the 2 dudes that made the Deathstar 'meh it just a 2 meter wide porthole Larry what could possibly go wrong mate'

I agree it's eye catching. But I happen to think it's very appealing. One of the first things I noticed and clearly a purposeful design element that I - and some GM designers and managers - like.

Just goes to show. I'm bald and my wife still stays married to me...

To each their own of course always. I do agree it is eye catching as a GMC owner i think I see this before the lights to recognize them as 2016s.

The "gap" is for cooling, air flow, and fuel milage, and yes it seems to add more lines to the look. They have the same in the leaked photos of the new diesels, the new diesels also have added cut outs in the hood for cooling, these trucks need all the cool air they can get, especially if the diesel is going to push out 900ft lbs of torque.

The front end is solid behind the gap.

Just a styling fail. You know, Ford has head light tits, and GMC has a buck tooth grill. Chevy went for the Darth Vadar look. Dodge has not changed since 1994.

Ahh interesting, always something they're trying to do. The article I had read about it explained cooling as the reason but good to know otherwise.

dang I was just thinking how cool the little gap looked.

It is kind of growing on me now a bit.

Gap or no that is a 'nali son. I like it. Wanna trade instrument clusters =D (if only it was that easy ROFL).

So quid pro quo: I seen a black de-badged denali today, looked totally stock 2015 but he completely debaged it. I was like W DAFAQ the denali bages are the best friggin part bro bro why?! It was parked and no one was around to answer. Nearest I could figure is it was a 2WD and he regretted not getting 4WD so instead of being a poser and adding false 4x badges he removed all other so no one would know?! I dunno maybe ... It was weird, I have seen debageing before and it can look good but I never met anyone insane enough to remove the letters D E N A L I. That is almost sacreledge IMO

The gap is purely a styling que, nothing more or less. It serves no function for cooling or anything else.
