DAY11 Posted July 27, 2017 Posted July 27, 2017 I wonder what the Toyota engineers would say about this mod Kidding of course
Chet manly Posted July 27, 2017 Posted July 27, 2017 I said some people notice a big improvement but in my posts that you keep referring to I said for me at first there was no change but after some tweaking a slight improvement but NOT NIGHT AND DAY. I find it funny that you say we didn't try to find an alternative. That's EXACTLY what we did. SuperSierra said it didn't work with adjustable pedals and we provided the alternative saying that it does help (for me just a little but some others have said it made a huge difference). As for the step-by-step like I said above it already exists. The procedure is the same for both adjustable and non-adjustable pedals. The video link above is great and works for both style pedals. But just to make you happy here it is in simple steps: 1) Move carpet out of way 2) Pull plastic pedal mount toward the rear of the truck 3) While you hold the pedal mount away from the firewall shove a paint stick or some other shim between the pedal mount and the firewall (use the thickest shim you can fit) 4) Put the carpet back Like others said it costs nothing and takes about 30 seconds so why not try it? If it doesn't work and you don't like it take it out and you lost nothing. Try it if you want, don't if you don't. I don't care what you do with your truck I was just sharing my experience to help others out. Sk "Not true. Many of us have done this with adjustable pedals and noticed a big improvement. No special step-by-step needed, it's the same as the regular pedals..." ^You wrote this pretty rude, no? So you pretty much bash the alternative write up that some put a lot of time into that you haven't even tried... it was there to help ("no special step by step needed") do you work for IKEA? People need to know the instructions... and you kinda went back on everything you said. (Many of us MEANING YOURSELF have done this with adjustable pedals and noticed a big improvement... would you say a night and day difference? nope not a big improvement for yourself. But you're mad at hayseed for saying it doesn't work? Granted he should of said it doesn't work as good? You could of just said the video shown will work just fine for adjustable pedals in the first place,( like the previous person did.) You chose not to be so polite. So I'm going to guess supersnakeoil got his ego involved because you shot down the step by step alternative he went out of his way to post and another went out of his way to write. Like I said before I don't notice anything wrong with my adjustable pedals, I don't think either of you are "right or wrong" but I do think you both have an ego, and don't like criticism.
OldBlue61 Posted July 28, 2017 Posted July 28, 2017 Enough bickering already. Can we please maintain the civility of this place? Sometimes the details get misconstrued in posts, since we are not face to face. We are supposed to be helping each other, not beating each other down, or nitpicking every little thing. 8
6.2Midnight Posted July 28, 2017 Posted July 28, 2017 Enough bickering already. Can we please maintain the civility of this place? Sometimes the details get misconstrued in posts, since we are not face to face. We are supposed to be helping each other, not beating each other down, or nitpicking every little thing. Exactly... This is why I come here, and recommend this site to others. Yes, we all have our opinions, but, when it comes to this, take it off line. Some people get left behind, some people follow the crowd, some lead. Do you really know what the capabilities are of the person on the other side of the computer screen? Do they really know what they are taking about, or what to look for? I've been working in the vehicle development, prototype business for years, so I know it all, absolutely not, I see new stuff weekly. I may suggest something on this site, or another site, but I don't deliver it in such a manner... Remember, we are her for different reasons, for me, I want to share, and learn while I'm here, not to try and say my opinion and or view is the most valid, or important. Look back, how many mods have you done to your truck from what you have leaned here? See where this is going? 3
SuperSierra Posted July 28, 2017 Posted July 28, 2017 (edited) I'm sorry, I was trying to help and I did get upset when I read no special step-by- step needed. I read that like sk was saying mookdoc6 write up was pointless and a waste of time to even try. I just put it there if someone wanted to read it well we waited for oldblue61 to have time to explain a little more /if needed. I didn't want someone with adjustable pedals go out get a paint stick and for it not to work, I'd feel like an ass for them wasting their time, and have to plead ignorants for not having adjustable pedals. But like Chet said snakeoil has an ego and doesn't like the criticism. I made that video to help, not for people to fight about it. So I'm sorry, I added to the fire. jrob56 Posted July 28, 2017 Posted July 28, 2017 (edited) Tone can't be communicated via text. This is ruining a great thread. Let's just let it lie. Edited July 28, 2017 by jrob56 3
Eddie 70 Posted July 28, 2017 Posted July 28, 2017 I quit reading the thread yesterday because of the previous posts from two individuals. Hopefully we are back on track. I really like the remote transmission filter.
BigBlueLB756 Posted July 28, 2017 Posted July 28, 2017 Hope this forum doesn't turn into another facebookbitchfest. More $50.00 mods, y'all!!!!! 4
