funny to me that sk is the first quote saying "didn't Notice much difference".

Isn't that by definition "didn't work"?

I have the adjustable and shimming appears to be the same and I saw the flex in bracket people were talking about but I didn't notice a big change. Think this is one of those butt dyno things. If you put people in a blind test you couldn't tell the difference.

So would you say it doesn't work with adjustable pedals?

The pedal flex fix is very noticeable - hardly "snake oil" when it literally costs $0 . Some trucks are worse than others, adjustable pedals have an impact on it as well. I found with my adjustable pedals in the '14 sierra, the response was 100x better with the pedal all the way extended (putting the most tension and strain on the bracket against the firewall). I'm in a '16 LTZ71 now and have standard pedals so I did the paint stick trick and its comparable to how the sierra was regarding before and after.

Like I said I saw flex in mine, with it shimmed it doesn't flex. That was point of the mod so it worked. Now does it improve throttle response and all people crack it up to be I didn't think so. Placeebo effect is my guess.

That said it costs nothing but 5 mins, go for it it can't hurt anything. If you feel it makes a difference than it was worth it.

Typo meant "a" hayseed. No derrog anyway.

I feel like I need to hire an interpreter with you, what is a derrog?

lol alright, I understand what you mean, I personally am not going to waste my time. I don't notice any flex or lag other then when it "flops"in to v4, just thought it was funny that sk said it works amazing/big difference, but before he said it didn't work, and seemed to get mad at "mr. Snake oil hayseed" (lol) for saying it doesn't work for adjustable pedals. My kind of entertainment.

Like a couple of politicians.

You need to keep reading instead of looking at 1 single post. I posted more info in follow-up responses where I adjusted the thickness and it DID work. So I didn't notice a difference at first but after tweaking it I did notice an improvement. If that makes me wrong then fine. Also the other examples that SuperSierra posted said things like "I took a quick look" and "didn't appear to work but your experience could be different". Neither one said it definitely did NOT work (which is what SuperSierra was saying).

I never called anybody names -- that was Surfarado. And jrob56 said it DOES work he just didn't think it made a huge difference. I also never said it made a huge difference, just that I noticed an improvement.

Not sure why you are beating some of us down when we are just trying to help others. So SuperSierra said it doesn't work with adjustable pedals but both OldBlue61 and I posted that we got it to work but somehow we are the bad guys. Believe who you want to but there is no reason to argue about it. I'm glad you are getting entertainment out of it instead of adding some useful info to the thread like others are trying to do.

Lol, you said it made a big improvement! On this very thread (Look back) and on the slow acceleration thread, you said NOT A NIGHT AND DAY DIFFERENCE. Well others with none adjustable pedals said it was night and day... so by definition of success referring to THROTTLE RESPONSE TIME (what the tread was about) (not flex) did it make a huge difference?

If so you should make a step by step rather then getting mad at someone who tried to help find an alternative (so far neither of you have, even when it was asked upon), so don't get mad at me for not "helping" when you have yet to do anything either.

My two cents on the matter, do what you wish with this information.

I said some people notice a big improvement but in my posts that you keep referring to I said for me at first there was no change but after some tweaking a slight improvement but NOT NIGHT AND DAY.

I find it funny that you say we didn't try to find an alternative. That's EXACTLY what we did. SuperSierra said it didn't work with adjustable pedals and we provided the alternative saying that it does help (for me just a little but some others have said it made a huge difference).

As for the step-by-step like I said above it already exists. The procedure is the same for both adjustable and non-adjustable pedals. The video link above is great and works for both style pedals. But just to make you happy here it is in simple steps:

1) Move carpet out of way

2) Pull plastic pedal mount toward the rear of the truck

3) While you hold the pedal mount away from the firewall shove a paint stick or some other shim between the pedal mount and the firewall (use the thickest shim you can fit)

4) Put the carpet back

Like others said it costs nothing and takes about 30 seconds so why not try it? If it doesn't work and you don't like it take it out and you lost nothing. Try it if you want, don't if you don't. I don't care what you do with your truck I was just sharing my experience to help others out.
