Added aftermarket rear park assist since I found a color matched rear bumper with the holes for it. I have to use some 3/4" knockout bushings for electrical boxes and trim them down a bit as the sensors where too small to fit in the holes where the factory sensors are. I don't think it looks to bad really and from 3' away you wouldn't know they weren't factory unless you knew what you were looking at. I did hit the bushings with some plastidip and glossifier before installing them. What do you guys think. The kit was $16 on amazon and it works really well. I am going to install the upfitter switches with the park assist button so it functions as close to factory as possible.

looks great, do you have a link to order?

Added a neodymium magnet to the steering column to hold the key fob still.

$18 and a piece of double sided tape. The fob sticks right to it and does not bang around any more.

The magnets were a little expensive, but I wanted black and the plastic coating was a bonus.

If you have a bunch of keys, this may not help.

Couple squares of self-stick Velcro would do the trick - and cheaply - without the possibility of a rare earth magnet doing damage to electronics........

Yeah I decided against cutting the stock antenna or getting a shorty as I never listen to FM.

The sole pro of having an antenna there that sticks above the Sirius/GPS Sharkfin on the roof is, it gives you a heads up as to whether you are going to clear an overhang.

But if you know the height of your truck you don't have to worry about it anyway.

I know there are some areas that may not have a posted low height, but if so, when in doubt, just don't drive under it.

It's ancient to have a metal rod antenna on a vehicle these days and it's annoying as it flops around in the wind as you drive in your peripheral.

So I'd rather just plug it.

I'll get one of the nylon plugs at Lowe's next time I go, thanks

Saw a red Silverado, this last week, out of FL, here in the AV. I think he may be part of this forum, he paced me for about a mile, before continuing on his way, into Mojave. It looked pretty good with the stubby antenna, but I still like the "clean look" better. I often feel like one of Dr Seuss's "star-less sneeches," when other Silverados & Sierras pull up along side me and notice that I don't have an antenna.

Yesterday, I perfected a mod on a *NEW* Bully Hitch Cover Tail/Brake Light, that I had done on my original one, that I had since 2006 (or so). This mod will only work on the CR-007A model light!!! I took the tail light part of out and made it so that both the tail and the brake elements in the light bulb would shine when the brakes are applied, NO MORE TAIL LIGHT.

Inside the hitch cover, I cut the brown wire even with the opening on the back, where it slides into the receiver, and at the plug. Took blue splice, slid yellow wire in the assembly into the pass-through (open side) part of the splice, slid the brown wire up into the splice (“hinge side”), made sure that the yellow and brown wires were even from the splice to the light bulb housing, crimped the splice, and closed it. I have attached the link to my gallery, let me know if you can't access it.

That's what I did, and it works great.

Right now, mine is only removed, but I'm going to put mine under the hood and install at least one hidden antenna.

I got my 50 cal aluminum antenna off ebay for like $25 and works great. Still picks up radio stations pretty clear when I listen to them, even the AM stations. I usually listen to music from my phone or SD card though. I got it more for looks. :)

LOL - That would have saved a dragonfly from death last week - towing to the beach we hear this "TWANG!" at about 35mpg when we are almost there. We look up and a dragonfly is stuck head first on the OEM antennae - and stayed there all week and for the 125 mile trip home. Had to scrub him off. LOL

Disproves the old question:

"What's the last thing that goes through a bug's mind when he hits the windshield?

His butt."

Oh, well.

It seems to work pretty well honestly. It is wireless and comes with a usb cable for recharging which is nice. I found it on Walmart.com

One of the best Threads ever! Have any of you guys done anything with the aux. battery tray?

Some of the guys have put a second battery there, others have put a relay panel there for their LED lights/bars. I'm looking at putting a compressor and/or tank there for my train horn, with the horns on the bottom of the truck somewhere, eventually.
