I am looking for one of my future mods to be tow mirrors, i do not want all the bells and whistles just power adjustable with working defrost like my current 14 mirrors are. I have a 2014 silverado 1500 LT it has the trailer brake too (if that matters?). I here it is inherently hard to install these suckers if your truck was not made for them to be n there from the get go... is that an old rumor that has disappeared because aftermarket or new kits are available? If i went this route i do not want to spend 600 bucks either, what will this change out cost im finding 200 dollar kits all around the place but reviews are spotty on a lot of them. I also can't find much good information on if the 14 tow mirrors are similar to previous years and interchangeable, can anyone clear that up please?

Thanks in advance!

I would think it would cost more than $200 for decent ones. I would like them too but not sure they are worth the $600 and up.....

I put these on my truck earlier this week. They're genuine GM parts, and I got the set for $250. It took like forty five minutes to an hour, and was moderately easy to do. If you find a cheap enough set, go for it. I'm completely happy with mine

Most junkyards won't separate the mirror from the door...

I've studied the 2016 LT Mirrors extensively. I've converted to mirrors with turn signals, power fold, autodim, etc. it was a PITA because these circuits don't exist and have to be custom added.

Since you don't want the turn signals, power folding option, auto dim, you should be ok. Power adjust and heated (defrost) should work as is and should be plug and play. I don't think the wiring in the harnesses changed much in 2014 to 2016.

Well for me then out of curiosity, I only have power adjust on my mirrors. I really don't need anything else. Except turn signals would be nice to have. I want to upgrade to tow Morris as well. Would I still need to swap out harnesses. I don't really care about power fold. I just want turn signals and power adjust with the reverse lights. Sorry if it's considered a hi-jack. Just didn't want to start another thread

I was just looking into this myself, I have a '14 high country with the power fold, turn signal, heated, puddle light mirrors are these a plug and play option? Or is the harness switch necessary?

For you it's plug and play

I bought a set online for 200 I want to say and they have been great and look good. Easy plug and play install faster as always on second one. One thing I will say these mirrors create HUGE blind spots they are big suckers

I bought 1aauto older style off eBay for $150 power and heated. Minor shake on large bumps but its not enough to bother me 5dca453d56cae6ff950309179bc3aee2.jpg

Got mine for under $250 with shipping and well worth every penny. Stock mirrors don't let you see shit especially when towing 968cfdbec61341d3f23bec215c3ea38a.jpg8c9c235ad72a5310325fbd4858883c8d.jpgdea175a065f06277a2783549245a6278.jpg

I'm glad you brought up the point about the blind spots. Tow mirrors look good and are necessary when pulling wide loads such as most travel trailers. I would not recommend them if they are not needed on a regular basis. (They are also great for being knocked into by people walking by in parking lots!) I am not suggesting to not to switch, but to be aware there are reasons why they are not standard issue. There are some advantages to the standard mirrors..
