Condensation inside Truck. Normal?

^ Well, of course it does. That's what climate control does... Dehumidify. The question is, why is the humidity inside the vehicle to begin with?

 

Now if it is raining outside and you are getting into the vehicle yet, that's obviously why.

But if it has been dry for a while and you're getting into the vehicle and it is still having a lot of condensation in there, there has to be water somewhere.

The only time I have had condensation in a vehicle is when I cleaned the uphostery or had a heater core leak. Run defroster.

It's a little more than 'run the defroster'. I have to wipe down the window with a rag. I do not have the climate control set to 'auto', just to 21 Celsius with the A/C off and drawing in outside air. The condensation will form when the windshield temp drops below dew point, allowing water to be deposited on the wind shield from the air. What I need to figure out is why the inside air is so humid. I have a psychrometer as well as a digital temp gun and will gather some readings just for fun. If it was a heater core leak you would think that I'd smell it (unless this new stuff doesn't have the familiar odor) or that I would notice a drop in the coolant level. As I type this I realize that it has not occurred over the last few days which were dry and cold. It has to be a leak somewhere.

Satellite antenna is most likely the cause. Do a search and you we see post from me and others.

It could be something simple as a plugged cabin air filter, had one on my van and as soon as I removed it the windows cleared right up, worth checking.
