Dent in rear bumper, What shall I do

2500 Step pads will not fit on a 1500, you will have to switch them out. I don't know if you bought the bumper with brackets or not but you might have to swap those out too.

I have a bumper I bought with insurance money to replace a minor dent in my chrome. I'll sell my old one with the minor dent. It's a full rear bumper.

I'm good, this bumper I have has no dents and is in ok condition. I just need to remove some scratches.

Do you know from personal experience or did you read this somewhere? I have the 1500 brackets to swap over. I don't see a reason why the 2500/3500 step pads won't fit. I'm going to make them fit.

I know from personal experience. The 2500 step pad is taller than the 1500 so it will be hitting your tailgate making it not be able to open.

Is it the raised ends of the step pad that hit the tailgate or the raised plastic lip along the back? Im guessing it's the raised lip along the back... I could probably trim that down do you think?

Nevermind that would look dumb. This weekend I'm planning on fixing it I'll post pics after.

I have wasted an hour trying to get off the electrical connections to the rear bumper and I can't figure it out. My fingers are sore as hell already. I tried removing the plug to the parking sensors so I could remove the entire wiring with the bumper but I can't get it off. Then I tried unplugging/removing the sensors individually and broke a tab on one. I can remove the bumper easily once I disconnect the sensors I just can't figure it out. Any help would be appreciated thanks.

On the plug that connects to the truck coming from the parking sensors there is a red tab, I pull that out and now I'm pulling on this plug as hard as I can and it's not coming out. What else do I need to do?

The red tab is a lock. Pull the red tab out (not completely off), press on the latch that the red tab was keeping locked.

I ended up figuring it out, really tight spot though. Kind of hard if you have never before.

You can't polish scratches out of the chrome really. It is what it is.

I will try, they are spiral scratches from someone that did and bad job with a rotary. If not I will most likely color match.
