Dent in rear bumper, What shall I do

Sorry about your misfortune. The bumper has a crease at the top but here is a slightly less expensive route to go, Go to www.bumperman.com and select Texas. Then see if there is a location that is convenient to you. They will take your bumper off and straighten it out for between $160 and $180 dollars. This same thing happened to a friend and that was what he was quoted here in the Atlanta area. The point of impact was lower than yours but the bumper looks really good. The guy who did the repair was mobile and did the repair out of his pickup in about an hour and a half.

Had the same thing happen to me. 2016 CCSB LT. 4 months of ownership. Trailer came unhitched and safety chain kicked in. Got two nice dents from the trailer slamming into the bumper twice before stopping. Luckily, I was doing about 25mph. Not as bad as yours but still sucks.

Take it off, bang it out as good as you can and put it back on. It is a truck bumper, it should have little dings or dents if used. This is also why painted sucks, if you so much as breath on it the thing scuffs, chips, cracks or rubs away. Chrome is much tougher.

Did the same thing when I backed in to a poll in HS, could barely tell it was there the chrome made it hard to see. To each their own though...

I like this idea and remember when truck bumpers were "bumpers". I preferred the painted ones because they looked really good after brushing on a fresh coat of tremclad every couple of years! Bumpers have morphed from a single piece functional body protector to multi-piece, decorative design element. I think bumpers now serve as a "one shot" line of defense. I personally get any dents or dings repaired to new condition.

I found a bumper in San Antonio$450 2 hrs away. A friends that lives there is bringing it down now should be here by 10:00 I'll post pics when I get it.

Here's some silver color matched teasers. I can't find any pictures of how the rear bumper looks, can you?

He also gave me the 1500 step pads I need to swap out. I don't think these 2500/3500 step pads will fit that are on it. I need to polish the chrome also it has some scratches.

You could buy this product called bumpershellz if you bang most of the dent out .

Just an option for others that have smaller dents in their bumpers, they sell front kits also.:)

Can anyone confirm the 2500/3500 step pads don't fit on a 1500? And how should I go about removing these scratches... I hope I can. Thanks for any help.

Yup, one of the MAIN reason's I didn't buy a Denali, instead a pretty loaded up SLT instead....the heavy duty chrome bumpers. Painted bumpers chip when a flea sized rock hit them. The chrome bumpers are far stronger and don't easily chip.

Also regarding another post on here from someone else, I don't think I'd buy a bumper from anyone who can't spell COMPLETE correctly in their post, or notice it and edit their post. Just saying.

i hammered out a dint of my rear bumper, its not perfect but its good.

im going to eventually line x front and rear bumpers so it will hide the small ripples in it.

Dang! For $450 that bumper should have been in perfect shape...

I agree and I thought it was but at least there are no dents. If I can't get these scratches out I'm going to color match it. My friend is a dumbass, I told him don't get it unless it's perfect.

Does anyone know if the 2500/3500 step pads will fit on a 1500? I can't find anything.
