Took the Fox 2.0 plunge

Its a major upgrade from leveling spacers. Not that the spacer is a bad way to go, but the stock shocks cant hold a candle to the ride quality and offroad performance of a full coilover system. Its night and day different for the better.

They have threaded shock bodies so you can dial in the exact height you are looking for, down to millimeters. Am aftermarket UCA is only required with the extended travel versions FOX offers, and the angles wont be any different than what you have right now with your lift spacers.

I want to do the Fox coil over but I'm leary about any kind of spacer or altering ride height as I feel this is not going to have correct geometry. Would you advise adding an uca to keep geometry specs? Would that even work? I'm assuming aftermarket upper arms arm longer to correct issues?

Thanks in advance. I would purchase from you when I decide

Upper control arms will have more caster and camber dialed in to give the proper alignment at the lifted ride height. They are not required on the 0-2" fox system, but on the 0-3 are required. Adding a UCA is always a good idea.

Thank you sir. Next question. Can I still use my stock 18inch rims with aftermarket uca's ?

Ignore the photo of the spanner wrench, but the part number and pricing are right on that link. We will get some new photos up during our next server update.

You might be referring to part number 983-02-086 which has been discontinued. Here is what FOX says regarding the 2.0s and the aluminum suspension and the current part number.

Here is what fox sent me about the part numbers.. I've been trying to find any leftover 983-02-086 since I have the steel uca. Do you know if the new part numbers will be as good as the discontinued one's for Gaining height and ride quality with steel uca?

Ok I finally managed to get them installed. I had them from my Silverado(2010) with steel arms. They fit just fine on my 2014 All-terrain (aluminum Uca) I actually managed 3" of lift out of them.... while leaving them how they were set from FOX.

New UCA's are in my future along with a 3" block in the rear with fox shocks.

Haven't driven it really since I put them in. I had them in my Silverado and they were fantastic so I'm assuming it'll be the same.

I just installed mine this morning. I already had the rears installed and now the rears feel really stiff, thinking about the 2.5's now for the rear only. I started out @ 36.5 and now I'm 38.8

Heres a short video of the install.

Past couple weekends i have gone snowmobiling up north where the roads into the mountans are really beat and frost heave ridden. This is definitely without a doubt where the 2.0s shine over stock. i was cruising pulling a trailer and they just loved it all and i had a grin on my face. i have driven that same roads many of times with the stock ranchos and i was grinding my teeth the entire time. just a thought i thought i would share.Best money spent on that truck hands down

Nice video. How 'bout a review on the shocks when you get a chance?

After I installed the shocks I first noticed I still feel the small bumps more than I expected and the front was higher than I expected. I knew they would go to 2'' I just didn't expect it to look as high as it did. I drove down an industrial street near my house that resembles something you would except in a developing country, here the shocks felt fine, smoothed out the large bumps and holes nicely. That was all yesterday shortly after installing them. Today I went and got some 275/60/20 Goodyear Duritracs and now the truck rides exactly how I've been wanting. The tires have a slight hum but in combination with the fox 2.0 all the way around, I can merge onto I-75 without have the rear of the truck dancing across the washboard type conditions with all the haphazard patching.

I wish I would have done this sooner. The only thing I may change in the future is going to the 2.5's in the rear.

Thanks Donolie. That's good to hear. I know what you mean about thinking it looks nose high. After I leveled mine I swear it looked higher in the front than the back. I had to take it to the lake where I knew there was a very level parking lot and I took a few pics from about 50/60 feet away and it sits exactly level. I still don't trust my own eyes even after throwing a tape measure to it. It just took a few days to get used to it. Thanks again.

Where on I-75 do you terrorize? I'm down in Chattanooga. In the summer when I run E85 you might spot me getting the jump on a few eco boost Furds and Hemi Rams. ??lol

Are the 2.5s worth the extra 600 bucks over the 2.0s?

Plus new UCAs.

This is my dilemma.

    • Here's the second UOA on my 22 Wrangler with the Ecodiesel. This has 5k miles on AMSOIL Signature Series DEO 5w-40. The first one was dealer installed oil, no clue what it was, the second is what AMSOIL recommended, European FS 5w-40, Most of the Ecodiesel world is showing great results using the European MS 5w-40, I figured I would see how the DEO works. This is using an Ecoguard oil filter. It's my understanding this engine likes to shed aluminum.  We will see. So far I don't think this is too bad.
    • I'm surprised nobody seems to offer a solution like the start/stop device I put in my new truck. Remembers my setting when shutdown. And while it still starts up in start/stop, it stores/evaluates what mode it was in when shut down and will change it whithin a second or 2 of startup. It'd be nice to have something like that for the DRLs.
    • 2015 Sierra 1500 here. Leaks from the sunroof to front driver side and soaks carpet. How do I fix this? Thanks!
    • I will be doing that for sure, but I need to solve who has/ where I can find a bidirectional scan tool that will support OBD 1.5. I'm kicking myself because I ebay'ed a Snap On MT2500 that I didn't think I'd ever need anymore. D'oh!! I'd rather not buy another, so I'll contact a few local shops to see if they have one and how much they'd want to do the procedure. I'd rather have the ability to do it myself... I wish there was a modern tool that could do it all, but I'd have no idea what to buy.   The theory with the pulled timing is that it mimics a rich condition. The delayed spark causes incomplete burn and the O2 sensor picks up low oxygen levels. That's interpreted as a rich condition so the PCM pulls fuel and that shows up in the deeply negative fuel trims.
    • An ultra wealthy man had the most beautiful daughter. But, there was a problem. Everything she touched would melt in her hands. No matter what, Metal, Wood, Stone. Anything she touched would melt. She could not feed herself. Because of this, men were afraid of her. Nobody would dare marry her. Her father was despaired. What could he do to help his daughter? He consulted doctors, scientists and anybody who could solve this problem. Finally one of them said, "If your daughter touches one thing that does not melt in her hands, she will be cured." He was overjoyed and came up with a plan. The next day, he held a competition. Any man who could bring his daughter an object that would not melt in her hands would be given billions of dollars to marry her. Three extremely intelligent and handsome young men took up the challenge. The first brought a very heavy steel rod, But alas, when the she touched it, it completely melted in a matter of seconds. He sadly went away. The second brought a beautiful diamond, knowing diamonds were one of the hardest substance in the world and would not melt. But alas, once she held it in her hand, it melted. He too was sent away disappointed. So now, there was one left He was very nervous & sweating. He approached the daughter & said, “put your hand in my pants pocket and feel what is in there." She did exactly what he asked. She felt something very hard. She held it in her hand, squeezing it as hard as she could. It did not melt & remained extremely hard. Her father was overjoyed. Everybody was overjoyed. She was finally cured. Nothing never, ever melted in her hand again. They married and they both lived happily ever after, raising a wonderful family. Question: What was in the the groom’s pants pocket??? Answer below ↓ M&Ms of course! They melt in your mouth, not in your hand. What on earth were you thinking?
