Plus new UCAs.

This is my dilemma.

I was planning on cognitos for either setup. My stock balljoints are already garbage after 15k with a spacer level.

Gotcha. I'm torn between going with 2.0's and keeping my stock UCAs (probably all I really need) or jumping up to the Fox 2.5/King 2.5's and new UCAs (probably a tad overkill but I know I'll be happier).

I still need some 18s with grapplers, the kicker sub, a tune, tow mirrors, etc etc [emoji85]

Can anyone tell me how many threads are showing on there that are getting 2" of lift

After mine settled for a day, and new tires, I'm now at 2.5'' total increase from stock, but I believe the tires added .5''. I tried counting the threads and ended up calling fox I was told ''Put the shocks on the truck and if there are any issues with total height give us a call.'' I took the gamble and put them on the truck. They did tell me two helpful pieces of information. #1 adjusting the ring .5'' will result in 1'' of lift. #2 with the 2.0's it's advised to use a wall mounted spring compressor to adjust the ring. I don't have a wall mounted compressor and this worried me but I was pleased that my truck achieved the 2'' as expected.

Thanks Donolie. That's good to hear. I know what you mean about thinking it looks nose high. After I leveled mine I swear it looked higher in the front than the back. I had to take it to the lake where I knew there was a very level parking lot and I took a few pics from about 50/60 feet away and it sits exactly level. I still don't trust my own eyes even after throwing a tape measure to it. It just took a few days to get used to it. Thanks again.

Where on I-75 do you terrorize? I'm down in Chattanooga. In the summer when I run E85 you might spot me getting the jump on a few eco boost Furds and Hemi Rams. lol

I'm north of Detroit, the roads here are terrible. The reason I originally started looking for new shocks was trying to accelerate on the on ramp for southbound I-75 at 14 mile road, it has a gradual left turn and the truck would skip from the left lane to the right lane. I'm looking forward to my trip to Memphis this summer for some smoother roads. I am hoping to have headers and a tune before.

Yeah I know exactly what you're talking about. I have to really watch out for spots when it goes from asphalt to concrete. The roads might be a LITTLE better in Memphis fo you. Thanks for the info and here's an early Tennessee welcome. Oh, if you're gonna go to Memphis better bring your pistol. Lol

After a couple days, love the 2.0's. They are just as good as they were on my Silverado. Ordered Cognito UCA's this morning, can't wait to get those on too.

Next is Fox shocks and lift blocks in the back.

What's the offset of your wheels? +24/27 stock?

Steel or Aluminum UCA?

I'm looking into UCA's for the 2.0 system...I had heard Cognitos rubbed w/ stock backspacing.

Correct. Do not use Cognito Upper Control arms with FOX 2.0 coilovers they will rub. It has happened to a few members here all ready. The Cognito Upper Control arm is a great arm but it was made to work with king 2.5 and fox 2.5. It will not work work with Fox 2.0....

Interesting, so the tires rub? The above thread you mentioned looked like there was damage from something else?

Correct, if you run the Cognito upper control arm with the Fox 2.0 the control arm will make contact on the shock bucket/frame. 3 members have posted about this in the past. One member with King 2.5's said the same thing. Cognito said they have only ran their UCAs in conjuction with the Fox 2.5s.

19 threads on the 018 part number shocks. i have steel arms

Is this how it came from Fox? Or did you readjust?

And how much lift is this?

And sounds like Camburg/Dirt King would be the best bet then.

So for the guys that are running this set up currently, how dramatic a difference are we talking over stock? I've been running the 2.0 set up front and rear for about two years now and am not blown away by the difference.

That being said however, I was one of the lucky ones that purchased and installed during the issue when the pre-load settings were incorrect out of the box (I believe) and subsequently discovered a few months later. I have the correct 018 part number installed for aluminum control arms.

My installer was never able to achieve a level stance. Maybe got a little over an inch so sits slightly nose low. Doesn't look awful but not as good as it could and on road performance is stiff. Rebound when hitting a quick dip at freeway speeds cause a noticeable thump in the front end. Trail performance just seems ok, rough and not absorbing of ruts, rocks, etc but seems to have better control.

I've since done some inquiry with Fox and they informed me that the spec'd 2" to level could be achieved on 2WD not 4WD. In any case, they said I could bring them in to have them checked out to confirm the correct position of the pre load rings, re-valve to soften them up etc but they they have to be off the truck. This means I'd have to re-install my Ranchos, re-align, take the Fox's into their shop, then re-install them and re-align again.

I feel like the peace of mind might be worth it to confirm everything setting wise is correct plus, I'd really like to get the performance out of this set up that it sounds like some of you have gotten. So my original question, should the difference over stock be night and day noticeable?
