I have a 2014 SLE All Terrain. The functions of the mirror are power adjust/tilt, folding, signal, and puddle light. I would like to either upgrade to OEM black, or the A1 Auto mirrors. Could you give me some insight on what is needed after the mirror purchase. Or your mirror purchase recommendation?

Please read the first post in its entirety. Not explains the requirements for 2014.

If you go aftermarket, the best bet is to order and ship to me so I can ensure the mirror is PnP when it gets to you. But please read about the 2014 and the RZY Jumper harness requirements.

Thanks,

By reading your post it looks like I currently have the DL3 on my all terrain SLE and I would like to upgrade the DLQ. Once I find these, can you tell me what options I have for the plug and play harness. I understand you make these, can you tell me which one to order purchase and how from you. Thanks

I recently decided to upgrade the stock DL8 mirrors on my 2015 Silverado to the DQS power-fold towing mirrors in an effort to get the truck out of the weather and into my garage this winter. Pgamboa provided me with a kit, switch, and detailed instructions on how to make the aftermarket mirrors from AM Auto operate like factory originals. Luckily for me I came upon this thread doing a search on the modification. Not only were the parts he provided of the highest quality and the instructions better than some factory manuals I've read, pgamboa was like having an online assistant during the entire process. He took the time to answer some beginner type questions on the Labor Day weekend!

I wanted to take the time to thank pgamboa for all his assistance in making my holiday weekend project a success. Aside from this forum being a constant source of great information and camaraderie, its people like pgamboa that make it not only possible, but fun to tackle these modifications.

Send me a PM with this info. Will need to ask additional information about your truck.

Hi,

I am upgrading my '17 Sierra from stock power mirrors to tow mirrors. I have to install the female pin terminals to the door side harness for the blinker/courtesy/markers lights. Does anyone happen to have the part number and or a picture of the terminal that I can take to the dealer? I have searched on here but cannot seem to locate a number, Any help would be great!

Ok so I figure after reading this and some others I have the DL3 "premium" small mirrors, and I want the DQS power fold tow mirrors.

Would anyone want to buy my DL3's!?

I have seen some sets of tow mirrors on eBay for 250 and as high at 1700 (cdn). Some of these say they include everything needed, some not so much info. How do I know I need your pnp kits?

I found a set on 1a auto, for a 2500hd Denali diesel https://www.1aauto.com/mirror-pair/i/1amrp01796?f=1103291&y=2015but it's not power fold

Then there's this kit says for a 1500 but clearly states K40 diesel exhaust brake option and power fold

https://www.1aauto.com/mirror-pair/i/1amrp01796?f=1103291&y=2015

Would I still require a pnp kit to make these work as factory. I think the second option also has the puddle lights as a bonus, whereas the stock dqs do not. I'm leaning one the second link as it's a cheaper option and looks complete. Anyone tried any of these?

Thanks in advance

Dan

Dan, if you have Diesel, you must get a mirror with the K40 Option. This is the temp sensor on the passenger mirror and will throw a CEL error if you don't it have it present. As for tow mirrors, most after market mirrors will require some customization. There is only Set from 1A Auto that won't next Customization, but that set is not power fold. In either case, you'll still need harnesses.

Ok, so I'll still need a harness from you. As I do want ALL features to work

I believe this is the mirrors that will work

https://www.1aauto.com/mirror-pair/i/1amrp01798?f=1138967&y=2015#product-qa-tab

Of course my luck says it's out of stock! I'll send the c note to find out if when they'll get more.

Can you let me know which of your harness(es) I'll need?

Would I buy from them and ship direct to you?

The only feature I'd do without is the memory mirror, if that's the separate RZY harness. And if that's all it does, but I still want tilt with reverse and all other options, key fob or button powerfold, power, heat, led signal, led spot reverse or cargo, (and puddle, but only cause this mirror wil have it, but I do have the headlight switch off mod so the factory ones don't come on now anyways)

Thanks in advance!

It truly is people like you on these forums that make these seemingly complicated tasks manageable for us unsure people

This would be the compatible model. As for the harnesses, I build them based on your trim and mirror you select. Once you have decided on a mirror, I'll have payment instructions sent in a PM. As for knowing if you'll need the RZY Jumper or not, it would be best to confirm what is present/not present in your door jamb connector. Please see the 1st post and confirm if you have pins 9, 11, and 41. You should have pin 41 since you should already have Turn Signals. If 9 or 11 are missing, you'll need the RZY first before anything.

Anyone have a factory loaded driver side mirror they would like to sell? Was just involved in a hit and run cracking the plastic on the bottom half of my mirror.

Have DL3's I'd like to sell but I would only want to sell them as a pair. They are factory paint matched black

    • Because that is IDIOTIC, much like this question. They've already been forced to do it by past administrations - why would you roll that back when it's a GOOD thing?  WHO IS ARGUING FOR LOWER MILEAGE???? 😂  NOBODY IS!!   I'm certainly not! What I want is RELIABLE vehicles again that are worth the price paid!    I don't get your logic here ...   In 2003 I paid $2,200 for our '86 Grand Marquis. It's STILL running and I've never been inside the engine, aside for the timing cover since it was leaking, so I threw a new timing set in since that makes sense. Transmission is ORIGINAL. Electric pump in the gas tank is ORIGINAL. Rear end is ORIGINAL. I'd have to hit my head REAL hard to want to pay $60k or more for a car that still can't come close to the comfort, seating and storage space, or reliability of this one. Nothing is even in the ball park! Hundreds of thousands of brands and models have been built and sent to the crusher while this one keeps on going!   https://postimg.cc/Z9XRrCSg   I've got a whole fleet of cars, motorcycles, and a truck close to this age for summer and winter. No one could pay me enough to buy anything built this century. I have zero use for any it.
    • Since I'm the one who has to fix them when they break, I'll take vehicles over 30 years old all day, EVERY day, over ANY modern crap. Have you attempted any repairs on anything built after 2006? It's a friggin nightmare, and gets worse the newer the model year.    If I had the will or desire, I can make any car of any age outside of a Model T (I don't have THAT much will ...) just as powerful, comfortable, and have all the tech the new stuff does, and get pretty close in mileage, too. I prefer SIMPLICITY. The less the vehicle has, the less to fix WHEN it breaks, not IF.   I'm glad you snot-nosed punks don't like them. More for us, plus that keeps the prices from climbing more than they already have.👍
    • Bringing this thread back on topic. I just noticed the incredible lack of bright chrome across the entire new lineup. Even the Denali has tinted the brightwork in the grille and has none elsewhere. None of them have chrome bumpers. As far as I can tell there aren't even chrome mirror caps. I'm curious if this also happens out back? Are there no chrome rear bumpers either? This is quite the departure for GMC.
