Huge shout out to PGamboa for everything on this upgrade. I went from DL8 mirrors to power fold 1A auto ones with his DIY kit and mirror specific pigtails. Everything was super easy due to his research and knowledge. I did goof up and land the wrong pin under the wrong wire on one of mine, which I will fix, but that is entirely my own fault! I have it working now, I just need to correct my mistake. [emoji12]

Thanks again, Phil!!

When I installed the 1A Mirror and an OEM (Non-Power Fold) DPN Mirror, I drove for 10 miles down the highway at various speeds. I notice some vibration on the upper glass on both mirrors. Since I don’t own tow mirrors, I can only base my experience on the short test. They both had about the same amount of vibration.

Maybewheelie can give more feedback. He switched from 1A to DQS Mirrors.

Yea exactly what Im getting a little more noticeable over a bump or what not. I mean the mirrors were close to 600$ so kinda a little shocked on the build quality but overall I’m happy no question.

I noticed the vibration instantly on the 1a, oem none. Is the lower mirror adjustable on the 1a?

I tried to adjust the lower on the 1a and thought I was going to break the glass so I never adjusted it, left me with a huge blind spot, the upper glass seemed to have less vision than the oem, I'm very pleased now.

Honestly I have no complaints on the 1AM mirror. There is a little bit of vibration in the upper, but it’s not horrible at all. The lower has none. I paid 550, and oem was either 1000 or 1050. Obviously I had more cost to get them to function but I’m just comparing mirrors.

I'm not saying the vibration was bad on the 1a, just noticeable.

I agree 100%. I’m just stating my opinion also, just in case anyone is reading that hasn’t done anything yet. I wanted to go OEM but couldn’t justify it, lol!!

Mirrors look good I have the same ones on mine do you notice any mirror vibration on the top glass? Also I sold mine on eBay for like 100 bucks I think.

I've noticed a little vibration, but nothing overwhelming.  Phil was able to help me unload my mirrors so they're not sitting idly by in the garage.

Does anyone know why the local dealers and GM can’t get on the same page with these mirror upgrades? I went DL3 to DQS power fold tow mirrors and it was not easy to convince the dealer to make this happen. Made no sense to me if these were available on a Sierra SLT why couldn’t they be added to a Denali?

I have a 2016 Silverado LT Z71, Crew Cab, 6.5ft bed.  I constantly tow an enclosed trailer for construction that is a bit wider than the stock mirrors.  I am looking to upgrade to towing mirrors.  After reading through over half of the pages of this forum topic, I'm confident that I can finally get some towing mirrors squared away on my truck.

My current mirrors are power adjust.  No heat, no turn signals.  I checked the harness in the driver's side doorframe, and the required pins are present from the truck's interior for adding heat, running lights, and turn signals.  Phil, I'm definitely interested in your custom harness for the A1 Auto tow mirrors.  I've been trying to figure out the difference between the 1AMRP01792 and the  1771.  The price is different and the 1792 comes with chrome caps.  Beyond that, I can't find any differences.  Advice?

I would like to replace the stock mirror control to integrate the power fold.  Is switch 23154702 the part number that I will need?

For some questions that I haven't seen as of yet:  Is there a way to wire the rear facing white spotlights so that they (along with the reverse and cargo lights) illuminate when the key fob unlock button is pushed, and/or when the truck is shifted into reverse, all in addition to activating the cargo lamp switch?  Can the forward facing amber running lights on the mirror be wired so that they can be activated to be brighter as a turn signal?

Let me know if you have any additional questions.  Please PM me to move forward with ordering and will go over pricing.

Thanks!

Phil

Hello

I have a 2018 2500HD Duramax, with dual arm, extendable, power towing mirrors. The mirrors have turn signals. I would like to upgrade to the power folding mirrors with puddle lights. How can I get the harnesses needed? And confirm the additional parts needed.

Many thanks

Does the mirror you have now only have Turn Signals? No Cargo Lights or running lights?

They have amber running lights that face forward, red arrow lights in the mirrors, and the two little lights that point towards the rear when cargo light is on.
