Do you have any close ups of the gaps your talking about on the white 1500 looks great to me. Can't wait to do it to my 17.

I gotta say this looks really cool! Do you need anything as far as headlights/grille etc to do this on a '14-15 Sierra?

That is an awesome looking truck, plus looks like some really good deals on Coca-Cola products too!

bump for a older thread. I am in the process of color matching the chrome vent bezel on my 2500hd to summit white. I have already purchased a PTM vent replacement and am going to have it painted. what I am needing is some help maybe from some guys who have done this mod on how do I go about removing the original vent from the hood? I have done some internet searching and can't find anyone or any details on removing the vent?

Saw this on a local windshield shop’s Facebook page and it looks like the fit is good... I tried to get in touch with them, but haven’t heard back... Would be great to know more details from the owner...

This is one of the cleanest mods I have seen on this forum. Props to you for pulling it off.

Nah...I think it just looks like it fits better because of the angle of the photo. If you zoom in on the right you can see the same separation.

I have a dark slate metallic 2017 Sierra and I bet it would be a lot better looking when seen up close due to the darker color grille and hood. If this mod catches on I could see a company selling an OEM style grille surround that solves the issue by extending the top portion of the grille back a 1/4 to 1/2 inch.

I would love to do this mod next but after looking at the part#s for Sierra hoods the 1500 part is the same 2014-17 and 2500 has a different part than the 1500 for the non scoop hood which makes me think the HD hood design is slighty different than the 1/2 ton. I always thought they were the same and the grill was just taller on the HD but the suround must be a little bigger than 1500 which would leave the gap in the pics

the 14-15 1500 hood is in fact different in style than the 15-16 hd hood. the hd hood has a "bulge" one might say and has a different look. the main thing i wonder is how does it line up with our grills?

it looks like we have the same grill design on the upper portion for the 14-15 1500 as the hd grills.

I think a 14-15 1500 would also have a gap. From pictures of 1500 and Hd looks like the chrome grill surround comes up higher on the and just slightly. Im going to go check some out at the dealer to see if they are before I get into this mod. HD grille is in pic below on right 1500 on left

I mainly did it just for looks but I am sure it should help the engine get more air and more power. I don't have any pictures of mine from under the hood but this is what it looks like under the insulator.

Do you know how the clearance is in the engine bay where that water trap would be? I am guessing that is behind the driverside headlights and in the space of the spare battery compartment? Wondering if my catch can will clear.

Hi guys, my first post.  I have been reading thru the thread and some folks have stated that doing this conversation on a 2016 Chevrolet cost a lot more due to the extra parts.  I have a 2016 2500HD crew can 4x4 Diesel. The 2017 nose looks the same to me.  Would the conversion work on a 2500HD and not the 1500? Could I do the conversion on mine with out the bumper, brackets, core support etc.....?
