People Suck...

Wouldn't the alarm go off either way - open the door or break the window and dive in onto broken glass? Talk about an IQ test........

You would think. Video shows alarm was never triggered. The way he popped out the window it came out and hit the ground. Not much glass was on the inside.

You mean at the wrist and tattoo a red target in the middle of their forehead to distinguish them from those who accidentally lost a hand!!! I hate thieves.

OP can you post the video or a link to it?

Did I mention ''I hate thieves''!!!

Working on uploading it to sharing site. Will post once it completes.

Here's the video. I trimmed it to the incident. Not very good quality, but should have hard file of footage later this afternoon.

I would think if the door is never opened, then the alarm will not go off.

Wow, this guy sounds like a professional. Especially popping off those covers in the back so quickly. I wonder why these thieves don't use those glass breaking hammers (for auto accidents) to get in the car. Seems it would be much easier to get in. I have one that fits on my key chain.

Why would anyone hide anything on a routine basis in the back of the seats? After just a few times opening them up they are not gonna stay put anymore.

that sucks. Low life scum thieves are worthless IMO. My cousins All Terran got his rims stolen too. Learned it the hard way - now he has locks on his wheels.

At least the thieves was nice enough to put it on cement blocks. Still pretty pathetic.

I'm betting he just ripped them off as fast as he could. Doesn't take much to pop off plastic covers.

Because its not used on a "routine" basis. That's the perfect place to put something illegal during transport in case you get pulled over. Cops are not going to rip into there on a routine search in a traffic stop. However, those in the more illegal lines of daily activities, which the video shows this isn't the guys first hit, know the good nooks and crannies in vehicles, and I suspect he decided since he was already in there, take a quick peek since its easy to check in case he finds a stash of narcotics or an illegal gun or cash.

Because a glass breaking hammer is a single purpose tool. Let's say they get pulled over a few blocks away based on matching description. They have already some evidence against them for description. Its easier to deny the purpose of carrying a screwdriver found in a search compared to the glass hammer. So not having it means better deniability and they didn't spend money on the device (or try to steal one from somewhere).

Yea I'm over it. Just one of those things that's more of a hassle to deal with after than the initial surprise of the incident. That is a prime example of why I always carry my weapons on me or in a bag around my shoulder.

Got quoted for $1100-1500 to cover all the damage. My deductible is $1000 so my pocket is going to take the hit on this one.

Just spoke with building management and got pics of the guys entering/leaving the garage and video of the incident. Newer Benz C300 with paper plates, probably fake. Going to have my contacts in law enforcement run it anyway, but probably lead to nothing.

Hey I tried to send you a PM but it said you can not take any new messages. Can you send me a PM so I can get some info from you really quick.

I have one of these, it's very small, about the size of a key fob. It can fit in any pocket, very easy to conceal. If I was a thief that's what I would use to break glass haha.

Sorry to hear of your troubles. Thieves suck! In addition to the daily credit card fraud and bogus orders we have to deal with online, not long ago we caught some guy out trying to climb into the yard behind the warehouse after hours. There is no other business here and that's our property, so if you are climbing our fence rest assured you are in the wrong place. We were there late working on a rig, heard the noise, blasted the lights, stood in the bay door and popped a round off in the guys general direction. He fell back off the fence and took off running. Im contemplating the warning shot next time, Nevada isnt the best place to be a criminal.

Sad thing is wheels lock aren't much help at all. Just tap a socket over the lock and poof it's off.
